I've been looking at these Busses for quite a while now, and really couldn't justify paying the money for the knives that I was seeing (never handled or used, just internet looking). But I fell in love with the Game warden. I just bought one off of the for sale forum and it should be in the mail in a couple of days. So my question is, how long before I am completely broke and/or I have to buy a new safe to keep all of my infi (as yet to be pruchased). I have a 2 year old and all of the sharp things and things that go boom are kept under lock and key when not in use. No "safe queens" here, more like safe-ly stored users.

Good snag -- I was looking at that one myself!

You'll love it. But if not, it'll be easy to sell --- that's the beauty of these -- it's really a risk-free trial. But I do expect you'll like it. And you need to put it to work to see how amazing INFI really is.

+1 :D :D :D :D
just work with it!

The first time you use your new INFI! Oh, and if you haven't, check out badmojo.tv for some pics of other models!

Here she is.

I added the lanyard. I think she is going to make a great hunting companion. It came sharp, but not blisteringly scary sharp. I think that I'm going to have to reduce the bevel angles (and even them out) before turkey season, just in case. Although it is useably sharp now, so I could just wait until it needs sharpening.

And, in a manner of speaking, I guess this one has a tail.

If you appreciate the knives primarily as tools and buy them to use, you'll be fine. It's when the collecting gets out of control that things get strange.

Strange indeed.

hlee, I like that GW and that lanyard. Seems like I've seen the orange paracord at REI if you want a matching lanyard. Am sure it's online lots of places.

Congrats!

Nice knife there, glad to sell you your first. The thick no grind blades are super tough but do not come hairpoping. I have one GW I plan to use, I put a few stokes on a strop and it helped a lot to my suprise. You may want to try this or a few light strokes on a sharpmaker before changing bevel.

Hope you get the big boy this spring.I'll be trying:thumbup:

Then How can you resist a FBM when they are over X5 of INFI, only $170
more!

Its hard to justify, but GW size actually allow you to use more often. I would say as often as a sebenza, a skirmish and a good looking sebenza (not regular) cost about the same. GW price is not that high when you think about quality, size, use, style & fun.

:D

As they said, no need to buy a new safe and go broke if you are going to have users. A few good choices will have you with all the tools you need for about any use. I was satisfied for several years with just 2. UNTIL I SAW SOME OF THEIRS.........Its the safe queens and the bragging rights that will break you trying to keep up. Lots of these folks have serious jack invested. They just keep amazing me with their posts. Its great fun.

My safe is getting crowded, I might have to break down and get another.

Luckily a Lowe's just opened here. They sell a nice $400 Sentry safe with lots of shelfs.

Home Depot sells a similar safe with a single very small shelf. I bought one of those and the shelf quickly filled up. There isn't enough space for my two new FBM's.

The Lowes safe should relieve the overflow very nicely.

Wuyeah, it is the cost benefit ratio of the additional infi that I can't justify at the moment. I always have use for another "hunter" style blade, but a large bowie style is not as useful for me right now. And, when I look at the FBM the only one that turns my crank is the LE. That's lots of diapers, toy trains, and anniversary gifts.

Guyon, that lanyard was a pain to make (but perversely rewarding), and I've started adding them to all of my knives. The braided part slides along the long camo cord (in order to sinch the loop tight), and is only attached to it by friction and is vey tight. I was originally going to go with a coil knot (Chris Reeve knot), but that knot seems much more failure prone. Sorry CRK fans. REI is only a wish here in CT, but I've seen the orange stuff online (that is what I wanted originally, but the only place that had paracord was an Army-Navy store so it was all camo and black). I'm going to try out this one before I order anymore cord.

That red handle with the red background looks really nice. Its a keeper.
