I'm sitting here with a Manix in my pocket and fooling about with my Mini-Manix (kills me how smooth and rock solid it is), and I just don't understand why in the world these two knives got canceled. :grumpy:

I prefer the Mini over Manix II without a moments hesitation. I suppose sprint runs are in the future but at least I have the two combo-edges.

Would someone explain to me the logic of canning the best two knives Spyderco ever made??

Two words: poor sales.

the average knife buyer seems to have a different taste than us AFI's.

Lotsa high quality materials, lotsa assembly time, lotsa attention to detail, notsomuch returns on the investment. Very unfortunate. I'm glad I got one when I could.

I also really like the original manix, i have a manix 2 in s90v and love it but i've always wanted a full size manix in plain edge :p

I recently snagged an FG full size manix. It makes me sad to use it, but not using it feels like animal abuse :(.

I think it's easy. I reckon you know this already, but: keep index finger in the handle cutout, open lock with thumb, give the knife a little nudge forward, blade drops down and the choil stops it safely against the finger, reposition index finger in the Spyderhole and guide blade down. Feels natural for me at least.

I have to pick and choose which models I buy due to lack of money I can spend on knives. I have a few must buys like the G-10 dragonfly and Terzuola. I just picked up two of the Ti Sages and a Chokwe so I am on hold for a while. If money were not an option I would get an urban, another paramilitary with chamo and black blade, a spin, a spare Caly III and a pheonix...almost forgot another Kopa but in giraffe this time. I wish I could support all the models I like...just can't. New models have been coming fast and furious lately...have to work more overtime.

I got a Mini Manix on the exchange (thanks Reeek!) a month or so ago and LOVE it! It's perfect for a hard use work folder. Sexy too!
It is a drag they were disco'd but at least they're still out there.

tooo big for EDC in most areas....Would never consider buying one even though it fits my liking...Lefty friendly and FFG.

I have seen that method, even with my finger in the choil rather than on the blade, I still don't care for it. To each his own.
