For those of you that thought I had stalled out on the self-inflicted folder idea again, well, I did, but I just emailed Matt again to follow up with this project. It definately won't be cheap, but it sure will be fun!
 
WM -- I talked to Matt at Blade about the folder project. I can't wait to see what he comes up with for you.

For those you who were keeping up with the other folder thread, I guess I should fill you in. I'm going to have Matt Cucchiara take an active duty, and turn it into a folder. If anyone else can't stand to wait any longer for an INFI folder, you can contact him or maybe Reese Weiland, who is another knifemaker that has done Commander conversions, but you will have to provide INFI for them.

You all are nuts for big folders. Well I tried that, but it's just not me. I don't really like a lot of attention, and big folders just rub in the pocket too much, and this one is going to be thick as it is. (I want a nice sturdy folder though, and Matt is THE MAN for sturdiness) Matt even tried to talk me into using something a little thicker, but he does Commander convertions, and the AD should be at least that thick. As it is the AD is going to be on the large end of the mid range, with about 3 1/2 inches of steel sticking out beyond the top. I estimate this based on distance from tip to the middle of the choil.
 
Matt stopped by to check out the AD. He asked about other small Busses that were a little thicker and I suggested the MS, BAg3 & KB. I can't remember if I showed him my KB or not. (The details have blurred together. :) ) I suggested that he check out Badmojo.tv for some great pics.

Honestly, I think Matt might be under the impresstion that it's thinner that it is. I have the Strider PT passaround, and the AD is thicker!!! (just by a little) I do have a killer bee that I originally purchased for this exact thing, but then I realized it was 1/4 and and 4" blade. That would be a monster. You have to take into consideration that there will probably be an extra 1/4 to 1/2 of blade that sticks out, which would make this an even bigger beast. If you're interested, email me, and we'll work something out.
 
Send me a pic of that 1/4 inch 4 inch bladed knife. I might be interested in buying it for the folder conversion and then sell it when Iam done. It really depends on the blade shape.I really like the blade on the Badger attack.Good talking to you guys at Blade too!
