I made a lock bar insert folder here’s the specs:
S45VN @61-62rc (thanks JT)
2 7/8” .125” thick blade
6 5/8” OAL
2.4 oz
Gray G10

I just want to say thanks to Stacy for answering all my questions over the years, and Daniel Carraher for his help too. Also Brady Tien did the grind for me since I didn’t have access to a belt grinder, you should check his knives out on Instagram they’re amazing.

Great work! If you were to do it all over again, are there any lessons learned? Hoping you could provide shortcuts for the next maker (me) who wants to make something great.

Wow!! Beautiful knife, sir. I'll tell you, I've never been a fan of folding knives, but the people here who make them are certainly changing my mind. Really awesome for your first one. Looking forward to seeing more!

Thanks Ron! It was a great learning experience. I hope I can make a few more in the future. It definitely took a lot of my time so it might be a while before I make another one.

Probably my most painful lesson was going to fast shaping the tang where it hits the stop pin. I had to redo the blade once. Just go slow and check it often. Also getting the detent ball right was a pain so definitely look at a post detailing that process. I ended up having to red till mine for a 3/32 instead of a 1/16 ball to make it work.

Good looking folder! I just got into the liner lock/frame lock game myself, so I can appreciate all the hard work that went into that!
