Ya did it again man!
I like the asymetrical handle butt, kinda funky...
I like MY Evans bowie better though

Ebbtide,

That handle was designed that way for a purpose. It's slight dropped and with the top pommel swell removed, it's very comfortable in the saber grip. More important combined with the recurve blade, it's a better slasher/chopper.

How do I know? Here:

This was sing's design and he does have the first one. This was done for Mario since he lost out to Sing on the chain Bowie. He is planning on doing a test on it.
Sing after he gets it maybe you two can compare notes on how well the design works.
Glad you like it Ebbtide

Yesss...this baby is mine!

I fell in love with Sing's design the moment I saw pics of the bowie Bruce made for him. The recurved blade and the slightly downward canted handle should make for awesome cutting performance as well as ergonomics and grip security.

To tell you that I am in awe of the piece that Bruce made for me is an understatement. From the guard to the filework along the spine to the seppa in front of the guard which picks up the theme of the filework to the pins that contrast so stunningly with the buffalo horn handle scales- this bowie is classically beautiful. I feel as if it belongs in a museum rather than in my hand. But I have no plans of donating it anytime soon

.

I can't wait to pick this bad boy up for the first time and swing it. Bruce tells me that is is wicked light, well balanced, and fast in the hand.

I will post an in-depth review once I've had a chance to really get to know it.

Many thanks to Sing for the design, and to Bruce for executing it as only he can.

Sing, I had a feeling that it was an example of the "Form Follows Function Rule" That is an awesome design.
Mario, Enjoy it! I saw on the other forum that Bruce had it weighed and it comes in at 17 oz

Beyond wicked fast

So there is The Evans Fighting Bowie & The Evans Dragon Slayer Bowie...I guess I'll have call mine The Evans Dress Bowie

Now what to call the chain damascus beauty?
While we're at it, why don't we just call him Bruce "The Bowie" Evans?!!!

Awesome blade. Love that little bloodletting notch just like on the Nepali Khukhris. I was told that it was from an old tradition that whenever the knife was drawn, it should taste blood, if necessary from the wielder's own thumb, hence the notch.

I have to admit, I am a bit envious of Mario's EDS. Those embellishments really make that blade stand out. Also, my EDS is 18.1 oz.

Bruce is an amazing artist. Each of his blades have increased in the "WOW" factor. The EFB was the first knife I ordered from Bruce over a year and a half ago. I didn't know Bruce except for a couple of posts and the pictures on his (so slow loading.

) website. Some emails and the EFB came. I was impressed. Impressed enough to order more. Each successive blade has been more impressive!

I love bowies. Love the way, Bruce does them along some of the more "traditional" lines. Can you tell?

(Top to Bottom) EFB, EDS, Evans Chain Damascus Bowie, Evans modified Chute.

But to be fair to Bruce and to his credit, he can do more than just Bowies! The Evans Warbird Hawk is an example, as well as some hunting style blades.

Bruce,

Don't worry too much about it. You new galleries load up fine. But I have to admit when I first got on your site back when I had some moments of wondering "hmmm... is this worth it?" I am glad I stuck it out to see your work.

Thanks Sing and I am glad that you did to.Looking at the picture that you posted up here I really have to say THANKS because I believe that if it wasn't for you My Bowies would not be where they are today. You have the first half penny guard I everdid on your first Bowie then the first recurve blade on your second Bowie.By you ordering that first one and taking different parts of some of my other knives to create it,It caused me to get a really good idea of the direction I wanted to move in and what my Knives should perform like.I have always loved the classical lines but not the feel of some of the old handles, and I have found that with a little modification most of the older handles can be made to be comfortable,So I guess that I have allot of new ideas that will have to be created in the future. So again Thanks for taking that chance on me and then challenging me to create the Bowies that you wanted.
