I just found out that Esee's light machete is made by Condor

I was on the Esee website and looked at there light machete and low and behold, it's maker is listed as Condors parent corp. That is a heck of an endorsement for Condor IMO.
 
Most "fancy" machetes are made by Imacasa. Fiddleback, ESEE, Blindhorse...they have the machete thing down IMO.

Imacasa is the best Machete out there...which is why ESEE uses them. I think they take Imacasa blades and then put on ESEE-style micarta handles.
 
It's just cheaper to buy from a mass production outfit that can save money on steel, tooling and production. Imacasa buys steel by the ton. No way anyone can compete with them in pricing in North America for a stamped blade. Better in this instance to be the middle-man and make a mark-up.
