Other knives that are similar in shape/design/function/size/blade thinness.

I freakin' love this knife. It hasn't left my pocket once since it came in the mail, which is huge for me as i usually switch between knives daily.

Benchmade 940,943 series and also 960.
Spyderco stainless handle folders are also nice and thin but strong.

Hmm, cool small dagger folder..
Darrel Ralph MAXX (there's a camillus version somewhere)
There's also the Ciabetta from Protech (it's an assisted opener, not auto)

For slim folders, most Spyderco stainless handled folders are thin

I have owned most of the knives mentioned and would add the Kabar Dozier Thorn to the mix. Two things none of them match is the lightness and thinness of the 530. It's one of the few I've owned that I regret selling.

Thanks for the suggestions so far guys!

I like the look and specs on that Dozier Thorn.

Also, i've looked for a MAXX for sale before and couldn't find one.

I am a fellow fan of the 530 and I happy every time someone lays hand on this amazing knife. It is very small and carry friendly, yet it has a super sharp blade and the dagger shape could get you out of jam it had to.

Everyone needs a 530. All those other knives are great, but I would put the 530 on pedistal for it perfect balance of form and function. You should get one with a black blade or serrations.

Word.

I've actually been thinking of picking up the black/serrated version. :D

If you can find one, the older 875 BM Sentinel is a pretty cool knife. I like the axis lock on the 530, but the 875 is a great knife.

Al Mar with the Talon grind is pretty similar to a dagger too..
Come to think about it, the SERE looks close

I keep thinking to my self I want one of thoes. I have the 350 which was before it same SUPER thin design, but with linerlock.

check out the "card" knives from spyderco (and Byrd) and SOG for super thin, also the Spyderco Delicas and Enduras are thin specialy the ss ones

The 530 is certainly a fairly unique knife in Benchmade's lineup that stands out from the others as being different, IMO. It is, I believe the lightest and thinnest of their offerings, paired with the excellent Axis lock and fits a lot of blade into the handle. It's my favorite Benchmade and I would agree that it is among the knife must-haves as well.

In terms of thinness, the Boker Trance matches the 530 but is heavier with a shorter blade and an "ugly" profile. You might like the Griptilian series, as well as the Presido, which are designed by Mel Pardue and are a bit tougher. The CRKT Sting looks a little like a fixed blade version of the 530 and may pique your interest as well. There is also a folding version of the Sting.

I'm a rabid Spyderco fan but I have to admit there is nothing in Spyderco's lineup that really matches the sleekness of the BM530. I would put up the Caly Jr. or Caly3 up to match with the 530 in terms of cutting prowess with their elegant flat-ground leaf-shaped blades. The Caly Jr. should be about the same weight and thinness, and the Caly3 is just a bit thicker (~1mm) but feels a lot tougher to boot.

I carry my 530 more than any other knife. I have a TiNives 3.25 that is similar in size.
