Damn, :)
This stuff is the coolest...

The first time I ever saw copper grease was on the inside of Glock slides. Copper grease is an industrial Anti-Seize grease used in high temperature machinery up to almost 2000 degrees Farenheit (varies according to manufacturer and compound).Seeing as Gaston Glock runs industrial manufacturing plants, it's natural for him to use stuff lying around. This stuff is about as hard to get as walrus nuts here in the United States but I finally got some.:D

Now, I've been applying the grease, filled with copper flakes, on everything that may need lubrication. Light bulb threads, pocket knife pivots and buttons, Motorcycle chains... I even took apart my stove to grease some parts (I don't know why I did, I never use the damn thing.. I always eat out) It's the coolest cause it's like applying glitter to stuff...;)

try calling a oilfield supplier like Wilson's or whatever in your area.
it's called Copper Coat, can be had in 5 gallon buckets.

5 GALLONS?

Gee, I've barely used an ounce and I've already coated everything I've got with it.

Of course, being what I am...
Gimme two buckets...

BTW... I can't seem to find an oilfield supplier here in NYC...

mutt> could always buy a 5gallon pail... hump, beg, buy.. whatever, and get a bunch of film cans from a photo-shop(usually either free or cheap) and sell them for cheap.

A similar product is Never-Sieze, which uses aluminum the same way.

great stuff to put on your wheel studs.

Ah...
Found some nickel grease from the same supplier... nice and shiny...
Gonna pick some up tomorrow...

I use Copper Grease often enough, so I have a 1 lb loctite can of it. I had a Grainger catalog handy, so I looked up the costs and if there were other sizes. Here's the MFG part #'s as well as the Grainger #'s, Grainger's price, and price-per-ounce.

It's called LocTite C5-A Anti Seize Lubricant, and it protects to 1800deg F

Price MFG # Grainger# $ per oz
1 lb brushtop can $18.92 51007 2A272 1.19
8 oz brushtop can $11.23 51147 5E203 1.41
4 oz brushtop can $7.73 51144 4KM71 1.94
12 oz Aerosol can $16.41 51003 5A450 1.37

I know Grainger only does business to business transactions, so if someone isn't a Grainger customer and doesn't know anyone who is, email me at TCNO@SPAMwtshtf.com (take out the NOSPAM for the addy) and I'll see if I can help ya out and order some for ya.

Skyline,
That Kopr-Shield is just a contact enhancer, it really doesn't have much of a lubricant in it. It's designed to prevent permanent and semi-permanent connections from corroding and failing.

Right on TC...
I live about 1/2 mile from a Graingers and that's where I got my stuff.

One word of warning though... the stuff is slightly toxic... no more so than many other household items, but they do include an MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) which I suggest people read before using.
