I just got my Waved Delica today.

Wow. I won't bore anyone with everything that has been said about it.

Its just everything that has been said is true.

This is my first VG-10 knife and I am excited to see how it does against the S30V of my two other Spydercos, a Military and Native.

This will be my new EDC. I really like the thumb ramp on the Delica. While I never felt insecure gripping the Native, it just feels right on the Delica.

My Delica isn't as easy to flick open as my Native, but I attribute that Natives flickability to it being older and the large zip-tie provides a nice surface to rest my flicking thumb on, but since the Delica is already waved, it shouldn't be an issue.

Anyways, one quick question for you guys. I noticed the Delica has torx screws holding it together, which I assume is for dismantling and cleaning. Has anyone ever taken the handle apart and painted it? I figure some light Olive Drab coats would make it look great.

Thanks for some great knives Mr. Glesser!

Instead of painting, you could get one of the new Foliage Green Delica's. Sure, you'd have to buy another knife, but who doesn't love an excuse to get another Spyderco?!! It was my reason for getting a new Endura in that color that arrived today, and it looks awesome in person!

I have lots of more expensive knives, but this the D4W is one of my all time favorites. Congratulations on your new knife.

One of my favorite knives for EDC - Great Purchase!!!

I hope they sell well so Spyderco will continue to produce them.

i`m starting to want a waved knife now , but if i were gonna get one it would be the waved endura

I wanted an Endura, but one of my girlie friends complained that it was too long and skinny. She likes my Military though. I figure I'm not going to carry a 4 or very close to 4 inch blade on me anyway, so I opted for the Delica.

Besides, the wave feature is sooo addicting. I remember my first AO, the Kershaw Blackout. I thought that snap was satisfying, but when I waved my Native, sheesh. The thought that I could open the blade that quickly without adding any superflous mechanics was astounding. Do it SIRGALANT, get a wave.

Although I will admit, I had no problem carrying the Military when I did.......so an
Endura may be in the works in the future.

I mean, why not? :P

I just received my Waved Delica and Endura in the mail as well!

Both flick open with incredible ease. They look a lot better in person to me than in online pics.

The Delica just has the perfect contours. It fits the hand so well.

On the other hand.. as several others have mentioned, the Endura isn't as nice to hold. But I think the longer blade will come in handy at times.

These are my first 2 Spyderco knives ever!

So far I am very impressed with the quality of both.

Too bad the sides of my Delica are now all scratched up :(. First thing I did was saw through some cardboard, leaving big scratch marks almost all the way to the spyderco logo.

Thats ok. You SHOULD be using Spydercos for what they were so meticulously DESIGNED for!

Worst case scenario, you just might HAVE to buy more.

Damn.

Quickstrike, that's the beauty of a Spyderco's. After carrying various Enduras for about 10 years I have learned to appreciate a used looking knife. It gives them character.

After all were only talking about a $50 knife - WHAT A STEAL!!!!!

Abuse this one and then you get to buy a Delica 5 wave when it finally wears out (That's a very long time with a Spyderco).
