I have zero experience in this field. While researching the few "stamps(? please forgive my lack of knowledge of the proper terminology)" that are on the knives, this forum kept coming up, so I've decided to join to ask for help. Maybe I'll even turn into a full fledged collector myself by the time I get done learning about all this stuff :)
So, the first thing that really pops out at me is a "becker machax". This one doesn't completely match any of the ones I have seen on the web. It's shape is the same, curved blade for chopping I assume. However, the only stamps on it are on the sheath. On the front of the sheath (which is straight and not angled like the ones I see online. It also is leather) is the stamp Becker Machax, and on the back is a stamp "Brommeland". Theres two straps/buttons to hook it around your belt.
The knife it's self is all black, including the blade. Where this one stands out from the others Ive seen online is the "rivets(?)" that are on the handle. This one has goldish colored rivets, and is a solid flat disc on both sides of the handle. Again, there are no marks on the knife it's self that identify it.

So, this is just the start of what I've recieved. I'll try to upload photos later, but at the moment, I have no idea how to do that.

I look forward to hearing from you all!

Well, I won't be much help, but why don't you go over to the Levine's Identification Forum under Related? Those guys will help you out.

Post a pic on the Becker forum and you should get some good info.

kyanther, welcome to Bladeforums!

You can post pictures by downloaing them to a photo hosting service like Photobucket. They will then provide you with a URL for each picture.

I would move this to the Becker forum for you, but let's see what you can give us for pictures, which we need for any confident ID.

AF has the best advise: post your question over on the Becker forum.

There are some knowledgeable people over there, including Ethan Becker. If he doesn't know the story of that knife, who would?

Also, Bladite (the moderator over there) probably knows as much (or more) about Beckers as anybody (owns more, too).

You need to go to Bernard Levine's forum on knife collecting and valuation. More people
will be able to help you there rather on this General forum. Just scroll down a bit and you will find it.

And welcome, but be warned, a very addictive place to hang out.

Kevin

Rats dangreco beat me to it.

Why would he go to Bernard Levine's excellent forum, when we have a Becker forum? I think the Beckerhead's know more about Beckers.
