I just love knives. I work with them everyday in the kitchen. I have them in my pockets. I love big knives small knives and just about anything in between. I love stockmans, SAK's, peanuts, barlows, jacks and whatever.
I love em with all kinds of covers.
I don't like trappers.
There, I got that off my chest.:p

Mate, I am with you, sometimes I think I am a wee bit obsessed! - well ok a lot then!
I love Traditional patterns so much its actually hard to nail which is my favourite.

Yes, now that I'm a retired gentleman of leisure, I look for reasons to use a knife, any knife, in my daily activities. Mostly, I'm always cooking something, which means slicing and dicing any variety of veggies, root plants, or meats. My collection of 1911's and S&W revolvers are feeling the pain lately, from being ignored, but that's OK...when the Spring comes, it's off to the range.:)

Invoice, I love the knives I got from you. Carry that big green Coke-bottle just about every other day.

Alex, glad you like it and it has a nice home. I love stilettos too. But only attached to tall brunettes or redheads.:D

Your post made me smile Invoice :) I have been fascinated by knives since I can remember. As a young child eyeballin' my dad's and uncles and grandfathers knives. I was working in restaurants from age 15 and had my first set of JA Henckels by age 17. I always had a pocket knife on me even when working in the kitchens, and in the galleys aboard ship in the Coast Guard. Somewhere in my early 30's I drifted away from kitchens for a 8-5 job, but later went back into the field as a bartender for about a ten year stretch. I used to wonder if part of the reason I went into cooking in the first place was because I got to use knives all day long :) Nowadays I like to use some of my traditional knives alongside my kitchen cutlery, Yup, I too just love knives, all kinds :D

Sit,I had a set of Henkels when I was 18 and going to J&W.
pmew I'm at work and getting ready for our Robert Burns night. Just going over the route the piper and I will take. Bottle of Bowmore at my left elbow as I type this.
I really can't get into Trappers. Something about that long spey.

I'm with you, on all accounts, one of my favorite pictures of yours is the center console of your pickup, I'm always looking for your parked vehicle :D

Pete

Pete the console is kinda empty right now.:p It' s been in the shop a few times and I take em out. Don't want to tempt the garage rats.
Good one jc! Never thought of that. Maybe I'll take another look.
Duncan you may be a wee obsessed. But then again, you have some mighty fine knives to be obsessed about.

Old or new, tactical or traditional, fixed or folding, damascus or whatever, they're all great!
Probably my least favorite characteristic is a straight-edged main blade. I have a couple, but they just don't get used much.
I like having a Wharncliffe, or especially a sheepfoot, but as a secondary blade. I'm a clip man, through and through.

I have to admit I love my old fashioned pocket knives. They're very much a party of my everyday routine, bring me much enjoyment and serve me well.

Now personally I sort of like Trappers even though I don't currently have one. The #48 or a Case mini-trapper are ones that keep drawing my eye...

I think you're among good company. I concur with you about trappers. I respect the pattern, and it's usefulness, especially for hunters going after hides. Still I perceive them as mundane, because everybody, or nearly everybody in this county, carries a 3254, or 3207 Case trapper, or mini trapper. It's nuts how many Case Trappers are in peoples pockets around here. I mean every once in a while, somebody will pull out a Stockman of some sort to do something. Trappers in open top sheaths, are the fad though.
