Here's to a product that has it's genesis during the days of the ancient Roman Empire! My father was a student/adherent for the strategies of the late Colonel Rex Applegate. As a member of the original U.S. Navy Underwater Demolition Team (Navy Frogmen) he would be!:D:thumbup: Daddy loved the Fairbairn/Sykes British Commando (V2 "Devil's Brigade" knife.) Colonel Applegate's Smatchet should prove to be an excellent addition to my collection of useful steel.

I was using mine to clear and trim a bit of unruly hedge in my front yard just the other day.

It is a virtual short sword, just remember to sharpen the false edge and wrap the handle for grip.

I will probably take this sage advice. I'll likely be taking this implement to Tom Veff and have him put a vicious edge on both the main and false edge as well. I want this to be useful on the street and in the garden. (I don't perform any gardening, but it's a convenient excuse to have it honed to a nice, sharp edge!)

Trust me, this is a f*cked up neigborhood. (They don't call it "felony flats" for nothing!)
