I just ordered up a G-10 Cara Cara, plain edge. I couldn't pass up a large blade and G-10 for $22. I am wondering if the plain edge is chisel ground or v ground at the edge. Cliff Stamp's review of the SS Cara Cara combo edge said the plain edge portion was chisel ground at 20 degrees inclusive. I am hoping that mine is that acute, just wondering if anyone knows.

I doubt they are chisel ground. Both of the PE Meadowlarks I've had have been "V" ground (I think I answered this on the other forum). Cliff is right about the CE being 20 * inclusive, but I'd recommend using that as a back bevel and finishing at 40*. It may well have been my lack of sharpening skills, but I found the edge of the byrd steel to roll at such an acute angle. YMMV.
