I bought and sold an Obenauf Model 1 within days, due to the super large size of that knife. You could clean terrorist parts out of your tank's tracks with that thing. It just wasn't for me.

So, I've had my eye on that Brian Tighe "My Tighe" interframe folder for some time. I ordered it through Arizona Customs tonight. It is closer in size to my large Sebenza and Cook Lochsa, which is as large as I like to get for an EDC.

I almost ordered the Andre DeVilliers Moyo Mubi through Knifeart but I just wasn't sure about that black coating on the blade. I was torn up until the last moment. I'll keep looking at the ADV and dreaming though.

When the Tighe comes in I'll try to get some photos posted and share my impressions too. I looked for feedback on it and didn't really see too many comments. I'd love to hear from anyone that currently carries one.

So, have a Happy New Year!

GO HOKIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jon

you are totally going to love it! I have loved ever Tighe I have held! Paul

I have one and love it. As a matter of fact, I just posted about it in the "Best buy of 2004" thread. It is going to really surprise you of how well it fits in your hand :)

There is a favorable review of it in the August 2004 issue of Knives Illustrated. I have had one for about a year and a half and it is a great knife that stays sharp is smooth and locks up beautifully. It fits my hand wonderfully BUT the same contours that fit my hand so well might be a little cramped if you have a very large hand. Good luck with it and enjoy.

I hadn't planned on buying any additional "big" folders - until I saw, and handled, the "Tighe Breaker" at Blade 2004.

I'm positive that you'll like ANY model that Brian produces. (And dealing with the maker himself is always a pleasure.)

I bought a "Tighe Breaker" at the Ny Custom Knife show a few months back. It cost far more than I ever thought I would spend on a folder, but its quality is palpable and the design is very distinctive.

You sure you dont want a Tighe breaker?:D

Brian is an outstanding artist and craftsman. I'm sure you'll love your new knife.

Here it is with my other newest custom...

This Tighe is so smooth and solid. I am very happy with it. One thing about it that you maybe don't notice from the photos is the blade is asymmetrical. The long swedge on the top is only on the left side of the blade. I think this makes the knife even more unique.

I know what you mean. I used to own one. Your right, thats what makes the blade look so different. That knife has a great feel to it and nice action.
