Hi guys yup my first post here on BF. Ive mainly been hanging on other forums but decided to join here too :) ive always been a knife guy and got little bit of everything but at this point i mostly carry a Zaan Tanto.
mkay not gonna drag it out more than that! back to topic becouse i got a few questions.

i stumble upon the 25 on a site and notice it was "in stock" but i kinda figured i had my fair share of CRKs (Small plain jane 21. Large Insingo micarta and the Tanto Zaan) but i decided to google around and try to find more info on the 25
i knew all the new features on it from before ofcourse. but i tough it where so similar to the Zaan so i figure ill wait untill some special run or inlayed one.. anyway i found a post here on this forum written a few days ago asking about the release of the 25 and got answered with only 30 left the shop so far. so what is up with that really? becouse i cant find any in stock anywhere, where i just that lucky?

I'm surprised you found one in stock. But yes, only 30 have left the shop thus far. It will be quite some time before Chris releases any embellished versions; i.e. inlay, damascus, etc... We might even see a small version before any others.
As far as history of CRK folders, they usually go through a few "tweeks" from the original design. I'm not suggesting that's whats going to happen with the 25, but it wouldn't surprise me.

BTW... Wecolme to the worlds greatest knife site. BladeForums- Chris Reeve Knives

yeah you usually hear about releases so i where surprised too! guess im one lucky dude not beeing on any preorder lists or anything. i am really exited about getting this one!
still wonder how this happend? not complaining at all im a happy puppy and feels awesome to get one of the 30 first ones!

I'm confused. Are the people who pre-ordered the 25 a long time ago going to be last in line to get them?

I did not pre-order myself, but did get one of the first 30. My understanding is that 3 knives each went out to 10 dealers. Just speculating that Chris is feeling out the field so to speak. These aren't marked prototype, but I heard they are a first addition. There are slight differences in some of these models. Lets just say unrefined. I suspect once full production is in swing, pre-orders will be filled by order date.

That makes perfect sense. Thank you. :)

That red lanyard looks great on your 25 with the blue stud.

Man I want one, I was at Plaza cutlery in Costa Mesa about 2 1/2 weeks ago and they had one for sale in the case I did not know how I felt about the seb 25 at the time and passed on it. Now I wish I would have picked it up. Oh we'll maybe next time.

I just received mine yesterday and I'm very happy with it.
I too have a Tanto Umnum, it's been my main edc for around two years. I've grown very used to the umnum and just haven't found a knife that can replace it until now; the 25 is just amazing in hand, it "feels" more stout than the umnum even though the blade and handle stock are the same. It's not a umnum or a sebenza, nor is it a mixture of the two if you really look at the fine details and changes from both of those knives that created this one, it's a very very nice knife and I'm sure that you'll like it.

As Blackend mentioned in his post we have already noticed differences between the 2 25's that we've received, I can't wait to see if the next run will be the same.

Sounds too cool to be true :) havent been this exited about a knife in a long time! i will post pictures when it gets here! been stalking the Fedex site this whole weekend, and its accually in Sweden now in transit to me :) hopefully tomorrow!
yeah i really think this one will kick my Zaan out of the pocket. i own alot of high end knives but that Zaan keeps on sneaking down in my pocket. i kinda feel bad for my other knives becouse of that! but i guess that says something about the Zaan right ;)

I'm psyched - for you and myself, eventually. I have a small 21 in raindrop damascus and would like a small 25 (I have small hands), preferably in a damascus other than raindrop. I know it may be a year or so before they produce small 25's, but I'm excited that people are getting the large ones.

Can't wait for reviews of production models. Congrats.

You won't be disappointed with the 25. I sold my Umnumzaan last week because after my 25 arrived I didn't see myself carrying the Umnumzaan any more.

The 25 is like the love child of the Sebenza and Umnumzaan, but with a little bit of XM18 in the DNA also. For me it can replace all those knives in my collection.

The only way the 25 could possibly be any better would be add a flipper!

oh my god... i should have had the 25 in my hand right about now. postal service my ass, got home after work pretty early and know that ordering with Fedex makes them deliver to your door.. this is a joke here in Sweden i tell you. so according to the tracking site they tried to deliver the package to me 1 hour after i got home. so i went outside and no note or even new tire marks in the snow. so i called them up and asked what was going on. and got the answer that they tried at that time.. so i called her out on that lie and when she understood she was in trouble she started to cover her behind. took my phone number and promised to try and get ahold on the dudes and fix this mess. and to give me a verbal status update. nothing..

Im sorry for the rant. and i bet every single one of you have had the same experience atleast once. when we order usps here we get a note in the mailbox and just go to the post office and pick it up no biggie. but UPS and Fedex try to deliver and just fail. every time i have to hunt that package down myself and go and get it..

hopefully tomorrow! just hope they wont mess up. and then ill give you a few pics and a first impression!
