First, sorry for my third new topic of the day. You can see my progress from start (what I thought I wanted), to a question, to now an answer sort of (with a long list of other questions). I just ordered a 560cbcf. Is there anything I should know or anticipate? Mine will definitely be a user, and not a light one, so I'd love to here anyone's experiences!

I carry mine a few times a week and I really like the knife. One thing on mine is that i needed to request some slightly longer clip screws for left hand use. Also here in the heat of AZ it can get a bit humid in the pants pocket so I started coating mine with some Aegis Solution and that completely abated any rust problems that might crop up.

Under this subforum to the right and below where it says "+ Post New Thread" you'll see a "Search Forum". Use that and enter 0560cbcf and a whole bunch of helpful and informative threads will show up.

Prepare yourself...your mind will be blown before you even open the package in the mail.

There isn't much need to search- I've already read them all. I'm simply excited and trying to elicit new comments. On a happier note, I'm fully prepared to be blown away. I can't wait to see what it can do in action!

If you have a 0560/1, just picture that in all it's glory...then multiply that by 10. I haven't used mine, and unless I run across another one for a steal, this one will continue to be admired instead. The smooth ti side of the knife is what really caught my attention first. And the blade's composite design is amazing beyond words. At least, in my opinion. I might be a little more of a fan of the knife than your average Joe might be, but ask any of the guys around here about the knife and they'll all tell you that you won't be disappointed. Hope you enjoy your knife! I can't imagine the joy I'd have with actually using it lol. One of these days I'll grab a second one.

My intent was not to diminish your excitement or happiness since I didn't know you had read them all. Lot of good coverage therein. You'll be more than ecstatic. :)

No offense taken at all. Lots of folks post threads rather than doing a little due diligence and I could have easily been one of them. I'm not, but that's not your job to know. I'm ecstatic for a new killer and well loved toy. I'm thinking given the humidity I should invest in some good anti rust system, but I'm really looking forward to putting it to work and hearing the answer to my "if I break the limited edition blade can I a least get it replaced with the Elmax blade" question.

Sad to see some of you folks just buy these knives as art and never use them hard :(

Mine is used, not just looked at. It's a nice knife, but not a super special custom jobber. Factory edge was decent and it seems to hold well. Not sure if the detent is a captured ball or a metal nub, but mine seems to grind and requires a fair amount of wrist action to open. There seems to be a growing scratch on the blade where the detent rides. Not a big deal as a user.

Overal it's a good knife for the price and I look forward to see how it does over time with use. I do like the assisted opening of my 0301 better than the flipper and hope 0560cbcf holds up as well as my 0301 has. The 0301 is a tank!

It's hard to compare this limited edition item that most folks collect to a classic workhorse, but I intend to do just that (as it appears you do). I have high hopes myself. I'm not sure economically it was the better call, but if it performs on par the 300 series I'm satisfied personally with a little extra cost for the gorgeous aesthetics.

It's not that sad actually. Many people do what I do. I enjoy it very much fiddling around with it. The ball bearing system of the 056x knives are amazing, and Kershaw definitely knows what they're doing. Such a great company!

Mine was chopping wood outside the other day. I saw fallen limb after a wind storm and couldn't help myself.

I just spoke to one of the good folks at Kai and learned that if my some awful turn of events my blade does break, they could replace it with the elmax as part of the blade replacement program (special edition blades are not part of that replacement deal as per the warranty), which is really great news. I have zero intention of breaking it, but it is nice to know I can confidently use it and if the worst happens I still have a very good ZT to use at the end of it all, albeit with a different blade. Great info I was excited to hear about.

And that's how customer service is done.

My sentiments exactly. They could have easily said, "We just can't warranty our special editions like that," but they actually seem to care about their customers. I've never had to use my warranty with my kershaws (I only own 2 and 0 ZT's until now), but I've always heard they are the best. This seems to be an easy and clear example of just how good. I hope I never have to use it, but I really like knowing that I can confidently use it.
