I had narrowed my choices down to either the C-Jr. or a Delica.
They seem to be quite similar in size, weight and shape. The only noticeable difference that caused me to select the C-Jr. over the Delica was the blade thickness .125 vs .09375. Is that extra 1/32 of blade thickness going to matter it seems pretty significant on paper. Are there any other differences that would cause you to choose one over the other?
Thanks

P.S. this is my first post here. I just found this sight last evening.

here is a link to the knife I just bought.

Welcome Sod.
I own a Delica and a Calypso Jr. They are both great knives. I can't decide which I prefer more. Get a Delica too, to see if you can decide ;)

Oh Sod
This is only the beginning........................................ ;)
Who's got the Spyderco Addiction Treatment Center forms?

Seriously, like Steven, I have both knives and have a tough time choosing between them. The nice thing is, as long as it's a Spydie you can't really make a bad choice and I know you're going to love the Calypso Jr.
Welcome to the forum.

Hi Sod, Welcome to the Spyderco forum and thanx for the support.

Steven's suggestio0n does make some sense. Both are very similar. The Calypso jr is more of an "Afi" (aficianado) version. Primarily because of the finger choil.

Both cut well (VG-10), both fit the hand well, both are lock-backs (Spyderco lock-backs are quite reliable). Both use a 33% FRN.

The Calypso jr has bi-directional texture.

Welcome to the Spyderco Forum here at BF; there's another one at Spyderco.com, it's more familly like ;)
The Delica and Calypso jr. are two great knives. I am sure that any of them will please you. Both are my favorites and it's difficult do decide which of them acts better. Indeed, Calypso jr. has a thicker blade (3 mm) while Delica has it only 2.5 mm. However, note that Calypso is full flat grind, while Delica is flat ground (or hollow, earlier models), therefore they cut quite similar. From my experience, Calypso makes for a better slicer. I found the Calypso jr. to have a smoother action NIB, but it could be just a particular case. Both feel great in the hand. The Calypso jr. carries tip down, while the Delica is tip up.
Finaly, I love my Calypso jr. but my very EDC is a SE Delica.

My knife arrived in the mail today!!!
I have yet to cut anything but a "Pluot" but it is already my favorite knife. Very smooth opening, very sharp and the perfect size and shape. I think I will pass on the Delica for now, if I get another knife it will be a plain edge Calypso Jr. to go with this serrated gem!!!
