The receptionist at Camillus is a friendly lady and she gave me the straight goods about Becker knives, from the info she currently has. Camillus will still make Beckers, as they are very popular and back orders to retailers will be sent first. They are shutting down for the holidays and will resume production Jan. 2nd. It will take a few weeks to get things rolling again after that. I was told that the back orders should start being filled around the end of January. So it looks like Beckers should be broadly available again around Feb. 2007, if no surprises. The receptionist is quite aware of this site (BladeForums) and knows about all the conjecture in regard to Camillus and Beckers.

This is good news, I think. However, I've read a few posts that insinuated Ethan Becker's own dissatisfactions with Camillus. I do wonder if Ethan is shopping for another maker, or if that notion was just speculation.

Thanks for the update, upnorth.

I sure hope that this all works out because I'm twitching for a BK-9, or two, now.;)

I just recieved a BK-7 and a Necker in the mail on Friday! :) Now I'll be keeping my eyes open for a BK-10 and/or a BK-2.

I'm glad to hear they'll keep going. I just hope they keep making them here and not outsourcing to China like it sounds MUCH of their stuff will be, if not all... :(
