I just read about competition finish TGLB's

They are listed don't know if any have sold....Not a realistic price for a discontinued "blade finish" since the TGLB's are still available from the company for what I consider a reasonable price for the product....:)

Buy from the shop and strip it yourself, it won't be exactly comp finnish, but close.....

Listed for that !!!! Some have sold @$800ish   but not $3.5K of that was the case mine would be on the market now..!!!! And I would DELIVER it...!!!!

You wouldn't? You must REALLY Love it. You could get a Gladius for that price! nice score though.Oh yeah, pics or it didn't happen.

Truth is as follows........

A gentleman over there listed one and sold it for $1000. Later he sold one for $3000, or atleast it showed in completed auctions as sold for a long time. WHether it was paid for is another discussion.

Thats when it looked like he listed his last one for $3500 (which is now down to $1500 after I sold quite a few as follows)

Now, thats where I got in....yep same as some of you I was even willing to deliver at that price but I wasnt willing to list mine in a buy it now that high and be made the villian.

So, I did a .99 No reserve auction and it sold for $1226 + shipping to Canada was $1281. I also sold two more in 2nd chance offers that were almost the same off the same auction.

Subsequently ran more $.99 no reserve auctions again all going for 1050 + many times. ( Even though I never set the price some will still hate or be jealous etc)

Due to time I finally put another up at 1050 buy it now since multiple auctions drew same price. It sold same day at full offer. Subsequently bumped one back up to 1250 and sold it at 1050 best offer. THe fees over there are 14% or so after paypal before taxes etc.

So, they will go up on my site sometime a few at a time when I feel the need.

I hear ya T thats the beauty of the free enterprise system all about what the Market will bring based on perceived value....With the Comp Finish in the Janitors closet
the market will pony up for a chance to own a discontinued product.

I just hope Trevor is not engaging in insider trading ;)
.... if you have something to say perhaps you should just spit it out mate ?? That sounded very much like a veiled accusation. The old saying "put up or..." well you know, applies.

Isn't comp finish the same as no finish? Just the tool marked machined blade with ground bevels and a handle? Seems to me that a striped one would be exactly the same except for the coating under the handle that would remain. Man, if only I had known, I would have bought a bunch. Busse is loving Darryl and walking dead... I would personally prefer a sword against zombies...cause I don't want zombie juices getting in my mouth or eyes accidentally.

I wonder why busse decided to discontinue the comp finish...um no finish? I think it has something to do with people complaining about tool marks, which will vary....not sure though.

The company was clear on what the comp finish is. It is basically the raw finish. Pits, machine marks, beautifully ugly!

A few people whined and complained about the finish. They badmouthed it on here, not understanding what it was. What's more, they sent their knives back to Busse to be "fixed". After all, they spent a lot of money on that knife, and Busse needed to make it shiny, and perfect like a satin finish. Remove all the marks. Shine it up. Make then happy to have such a pretty shiny knife. it was It was enough to ruin that fantastic finish for us all.

they are also cleverly advertised as "walking dead knife " Daryl Dixons knife " ect which helps to fetch the bigger price

Trevor,
I'm so glad you took it the right way. It was meant as a friendly poke.
You went out of your way to help me in the past and it was greatly appreciated.
Andy took offense but none was meant.

KnifeHunter always does things the right way.

He has helped so many hogs and pigglets out over the years. My self included. Always a stand up guy.

Nothing wrong with a true auction where the knife is listed with a low reserve and the price goes up high. That means there is simply enough demand to support the price.

Listing them at $3000, or $3500 may seem crazy or underhanded, but I'm certainly well informed enough to not buy one at that price. Frankly, I am shocked anyone bid one up to the $1000 mark at all. Let alone multiple knives at those prices.

It's the great thing about the free market. Everything is worth exactly what the highest bidder is willing to pay.

Everything I have is for sale at the right price....that includes the wife and dog! Although...the dog will be pretty expensive!

Just kiddin' :D. Kinda.....
