I've always been intrigued by this knife due to the size, blade shape, and blade material. I finally bought one and it arrived today. I think it is pretty awesome- the handle is plenty long, the blade is beefy but not overly thick, and the tip appears to be very strong. The weight is good, the handle is thin, the lock works well with just a bit of stickiness. I don't mind the light amount of detent and wish some of my other knives were like that. With the dull appearance of the Ti frame it isn't a flashy knife, it appears to be all business and that's what I got it for. I have a lot of faith in M4 too.

This knife is probably similar in size to a Ti Military, but I think it has a lot stronger tip. I was wanting a Military but I was also thinking that the tip was a little fragile. This may take away my urge to buy a Military.

This is a used knife but I don't think it has been sharpened. The edge though appears to be about 25 degrees per side, or even more. I touched it to my Sharpmaker at 20 degrees and it only touches the very top of the bevel so I gave up for now. I'll have to reprofile it. It looks good right now with a thin uniform grind, after I reprofile it the bevel will be much higher. And by chance my Bradley Alias I is the same way and needs reprofiling too.

I just recently heard of the 760 and it seems intriguing. I am a fan of large folders and would like to get my hands on one to feel it.

I just got my hands on one as well. I hated it when I first opened the box and saw it, but now it has grown on me. It's definitely the smoothest and best built Benchmade that I own.

I recently have gotten into emerson knives causing me to have a new love for tantos. I love this knife. Are they readily available or somewhat limited?

Benchmade no longer makes anything like Emerson's offerings; but I would offer the old 970 and larger 975 knives that were a collaboration between them are arguably the better versions. The only knife comparable that Ernie produced to equal these is the very rare '99 CQC-7, which was very close in F&F to the BKC and worth seeking out.

I know the only similar knife is the benchmade cqc7. Im asking about the lfti. Completly different knife but emersons turned me on to tantos and I love how what BM has done with the lfti.

The 760LFTi is a rock solid knife. I have carried mine almost daily since getting in over a year ago and it just cuts anything I need to cut. Which goes against the "tantos aint gonna cut man!" sentiment you see over and over. I think the curved edge and gentle transition to the secondary grind at the tip contribute to this. The stickiness will go away and the knife will get even smoother. I have my pivot cranked down pretty good because of the light detent but it still opens in a flash. I've handled Emerson tantos and I'd take the BM over them no second thoughts. CPM-M4 steel, titanium framelock, 4mm blade stock, what's not to love? I even got used to, and like, the tip down carry, the horror!!

Yeah, the 760 is a nice knife. My main complaint with it was the thickness of the blade and the overall size, with small hands it was too much to carry. But the knife is very close to Bob's original design and has a lot of value for me as a result; and it's the only Benchmade that has a traditional Japanese blade shape. The thing is one of THE more tactical knives in the offering.

760 is a truly smooth action awesome frame lock, I say this as the only other framelock I have is also an M4 steel, the Milliie M4, however after having this knife the big thick blade just did nothing for me and the knife was relegated to the Drawer. I then moved away some of the black with water paper to get a finer cutter.

Yet again relegated to the drawer,

Just got it back from Gareth Bull, Stalkerized and reground, I am really happy the way it turned out. Removes so much weight off the blade, easier for EDC.

Before:

Stalkerized: (I believe that it still holds true to Bob Lum designs)

I have had mine as my edc for about two years. It a really nice knife. The only negative I can speak of is that my blade isn't centered at all. Being more of a fixed blade guy I'm not sure how to fix this besides tightening the pivot up. It seems though that I have little to no adjustment range. It's either to tight or to loose. Have been struggling with this issue for some time. Any advise is appreciated.

the only issue i had with ther lfti was lock slippage on three, but i still want to get one anyways. i dont care anymore, i just miss my lfti
