One is a Christmas present for my son. Paid $36 for each with free shipping. I didn't even know the 112 existed until reading this forum. Anyway, I like my 110s so much, I thought I'd like to see what the smaller 112 was like. Although I like the looks of my 110s, just fine, I was surprised at how attractive the scales are on these 112s. Much more even, balanced and attractive in color. They are easily the best looking Buck knives I've purchased. The fit and finish in general on these two is excellent overall, and I really like the size. Can't play with it until Christmas, though.

I became rather obsessed with the 112 after seeing a vid on youtube of one with nickel silver bolsters and indigo royalwood scales. Unfortunately Buck hasn't offered customization of the 112 for a few years, but it's OK I'll wait...Happy holidays and I'm sure you'r son will love his gift, I know I would=)

Congrats on the 112s!! Your son is VERY lucky!! (It sounds like they already have your finger prints all over them though)

Merry Christmas!!

Nice present for you and your son. I got a lotta love for the 112 and the "Ranger sized" blades in general.

There is something nice about giving your son a knife as a present, isn't there? I got my 20 yr old son a 110 for Christmas this year myself.

Hi everyone, and thanks for the comments. Yes, I did have to fight myself from fingering them both all up, playing with them. I was able to just take a quick peek at each of them, and put them back in the box. I do enjoy giving my son knives for Christmas. I remember growing up how much I enjoyed getting and using my pocket knives. Not much has changed I guess, because I still enjoy it. Even better now that I have my son to share this fun with.

WELL????? I can't stand the suspense!! What did your son do when he opened the 112??

Probably having a civilized holiday over at Doug's place.

My kid slowly examined the 110 in his hand. Opened it up and it made that nice "snap" they all do, especially when new. He hefted it up and down in his hand a few times and said and said "WOW. This is a sweet knife. Heavy. Beautiful too. I love it, dad." Closed it and opened it again and just shook his head with a big grin on his face. Great first impression of a 110.

He liked it very much. He has received a number of Buck knives already, but he says the 112 is his favorite. Hope you all had a very Merry Christmas.
