Outpost is a good 2020 film staring Scott Eastwood (Clint's son) and Orlando Bloom. It tells the story of the final attack on Outpost Keating in Afghanistan, and is based on actual events. I am posting the trailer below. I would like to see if we can identify the knife carried by Caleb Jones on his vest. It seems to be an Applegate style dagger with carbon fiber scales (shown at 1:41 on the trailer).

5-6” blade double-edged Applegate-Fairbairn style knife as you said, looks like. Probably a custom movie prop, I can’t really tell for sure.

That knife placement bothers me a bit, though his vest might be riding up because of the crouched position. Not a tactical dude, but it may be more optimal to mount the knife lower.

I don't know about the knife. But the Russians came out with a great movie based on the same sounding premise. Really good watch.

It's a Pohl Force Prepper One.
Doubt. The knife in question has a more symmetrical looking handle, what looks like large jimping near the finger guard, and the scale patterns are different. The Pohl Force is a drop point with an asymmetric handle, no jimping near the finger guard and a different scale pattern (although visually similar).

Hard to tell from the pictures and short clip, but it looks like the handle is overmolded, rather than scales.
It's very similar to the Gerber Command I, except for the guard area.
The handle texture is similar to what Al Mar used on a lot of his knives.

I dont think thats carbon fiber scales. The texture just gives it that sort of look. It looks like textured plastic or something when I zoom in on it.

As for the movie. Good movie. Saw it a few months back. Having served in Iraq in 2005 (even though this took place in Afghanistan) I found myself getting super pissed at the pure stupidity of the layout of the base and the people in charge that let that shit show happen.

Best performance by Orlando Bloom ever! That's something that I never thought I would say.
