Yes, I saw Sahara last night,
and I have to say it was good, but not great.
If you're bored and looking for a modern day Indiana Jones-esqe action movie, this is it.
I basically agree with many of the publically available reviews.
It misses on several plot points,
although at least it isn't entirely unrealistic.
It is also pretty fun at times, as Dirk Pitt's sidekick provides decent comedy relief.
So there you have it.

Would you recommend waiting for DVD rental?

It doesn't look vrey good, based on the television commercials.

Yes, I can recommend for rental.
Like I said it's a good movie,
but don't expect Lord of the Rings
or Gladiator.
but it's still pretty good.
and lot better than some of the crap that I spent 7.50 on. ;)
BTW, I usually go to Yahoo movies to get detailed review from both critics and regular folks.

I have seen the previews and it looked like an OK movie, I might go watch it this weekend.

I thought it was funny that a reviewer didn't like it because it was "unrealistic" and more campy than Clive Cussler's novels. Don't get me wrong, I like Cussler but "realistic" he ain't.
