I just spent $14 on a Maxpedition Tactical Can Case...

And that was a good price for a bit of nylon and a zipper designed to hold tuna! What is with our addiction to build these kits? I have spent more than I want to admit on my 10x4 bottle holder, Guyot bottle, GSI Bottle cup, Frontier Filter, shoulder strap, tactical can case, and other bits and pieces so that I have: The ultimate water bottle carrier. I better never become a hippie because I don't think a gourd will fit in this case.

The worst part is: I have a few nice Camelbak's, water bottles, etc. and I still want this kit to be perfect. I can only drink from one hydration system at a time after all. I don't know why, but we've all seen the set and I just wanted to try it out myself. This thing is going to be 10 lbs. by the time I fill it with water. I do use the kit when I camp or hike, but its starting to become a bit heavy as I complete the "holy grail water bottle carrier". I'm hoping the frontier filter is able to fit in the new case (which obviously fits at the bottom of the 10x4 under the GSI Bottle Cup so that the extra 2" of height is taken up and the Guyot fits above the rim of the 10x4 when it's unzipped).

P.S. When I get the tactical can case I might post a pic of the whole set...

Would love to see pictures when you get the chance.

I have a bunch of Nalgene bottles but hardly use them today because I don't have a good Alice/molle compatible carrier for them and the Maxpedition one is so expencive. I keep looking at the price of the Bottle holders and figure that I can buy 2 canteens and 2 canteen carriers so I don't by a Maxpedition bottle holder.

If either of the Maxpedition Bottle Holders will fit enough gear along with a water bottle and if they attach well to a webbed belt, I may consider the money well spent. So if you could get some detailed pictures when you take them, that would be apreciated.

Did you have to remind me?

Guyot, GSI cup, GSI Coffee filter, three different lids, Nalgene splash guard insert, S&H and I'm at $50.
For a water bottle?! :o
I don't even have a carrier (yet).

I have this issue too. Especially with flashlights. Always some little gadget you can add to it do it's that much better. I think we compete with ourselves lol.

OK, I'm with you on the other stuff, but what are the three lids for? Also, you need to buy from somewhere with free shipping. :)

Check over in W&SS. There have been several threads were guys have posted their setups with the bottle holders. The 12x5 has been out of stock for several months though, FYI.

I bought the splash guard from your store if that helps.;) The rest I bought before I knew ya.

The lids are the cheap extra plastic nalgene type and one of the OTG caps.

Actually got the bottle too but just use the lid so I guess it doesn't count as an accessory for the Guyot, does it?

No worries storl, I'm working up an order soon ;).
