Ok I know I've posted before on almost the same subject but anyway so please don't say anything about it.

Ok for Christmas I got a ZT0200 its an awesome knife I've used it a lot but I have an little issue I wanted this knife to edc I've been carrying it but with all my gear it's a little heavy but I make it work on a normal day I carry between 12 to 18 pounds of gear so it don't fit in

What do you think would be a good edc/tactical folding knife over 8 inches I've been thinking about a spyderco military satin blade and a spyderco paramilitary 2 satin plain if I can find one in stock and a spyderco endura ss plain blade but I'm leaning more toward the military anyone have any better suggestions or agree with one of the ones I listed?

P.S.I HAVE ZERO SPYDERCO'S IN MY COLLECTION BUT I KNOW A LOT OF PEOPLE WHO LOVE SPYDERCO SO WHAT DO YOU THINK

AND YES ITS A LITTLE BIT OF A DUMB QUESTION.

You have to be a gold member in order to ask the price of a knife.

The Military is a really good knife. I have one and I love it. I think it is much better quality than an Emerson, but the Endura with a wave is a much better tactical knife than the Military because of the opening system. Check out the Endura 4 with the Emerson Wave, I think they are about $80.

You can't go wrong with the Military. I think Emerson knives are overpriced and have bad QC issues, but that's just me.

It's not a "dumb" question...

If you are honest with yourself, you already know what you want. You are simply seeking justification.

Of the knives you are thinking about, you are justified.

Just order it already and let us know which one you decided on. ;) LOL

Out of those listed, I say Para 2.

What do you need every day that you're carrying around 18 pounds of gear? O.o

Also, something like the Para 2 is a good choice as it can handle tougher tasks but still handle light duty too. I think you need that more than anything. The right EDC should be able to handle all of your needs. I carry two(that's just me).

Another good pick would be the Spyderco Manix 2 - Probably all black if you're looking for "Tactical".
It's a heavy duty knife that can handle any task at all, solid tank of a knife. Has a great locking mechanism too.

The one I'm choosing is the spyderco military and then the paramilitary2. I will probly end up with a endura, delica, police, manix, ect so i will get the military for now. Thanks everyone for giving your opinion.

12 to 18 pounds of gear....

Hard hat with light: 3 pounds
Self-rescue breather: 1 pound
Boots: 10 pounds (no kidding! even boots with composite metatarsal guards weigh a lot!)
Jeans, socks, underlayer, reflective suit: 3 to 5 pounds

Add it all up, and what do you get?

Underground miner. (Because you can be involved in surface quarrying, and still be considered a miner)

Another possibility is forestry. Chainsaw boots, chainsaw, hardhat, and all, yeah, 18 pounds plus...

Steel erectors wear hard-toe boots and a safety harness, usually a hardhat, too. The harness alone will add four pounds.

Just a few guesses. It can be kind of surprising how fast the weight of our everyday stuff adds up, especially for those of us who carry around four or five knives....

With all due respect (Shorttime) you weren't even close to my work my work has nothing to do with it I carry a crkt m16 and a kershaw brawler for work but those are some good guesses. That's for my edc yes my edc I carry more on my personal time than at my work. I carry between 4 and 8 knives and a mutitool, flashlights, about 12 feet of duct tape, about 75feet of 550 paracord,4inkpens its something that's in my bloodline,a guard father for show,a tactical pen,phones/iPod for bored moments, wallet, keys, ect, on me at all times. And a few other things I probably forgot to put but that sums it up.

If you want another knife, buy one. You've set your mind to it already. Find a store that carries Spydies, as you're already set on them, and touch and hold them (I said them, meaning the knives). If that's not an option, do your homework, and buy what you like from someone with a good return policy, just is case.

Problem Solved. Carry on my son.

I've actually done a lot of research on them and held every type of knife I wanted and narrowed it down to these 3 but Im probably going to get all of them but I'm going to get the military first
