I just want to say thanks to all the forum members and mods that make this such a great place to be a part of !
Without going into details a recent experience on another forum has made me realise just how great the members are over here. This forums members have a wide degree of skill levels from tops guys like Rick Marchand, Mistwalker, RescueRiley and Bryan Breeden etc to very novice new guys who have just gotten into the outdoor scene and all the guys who fall somewhere in between such as myself, yet there is nearly always a great deal of understanding and respect shown.

Anyway with hugs, high fives and pats on the backs all round over I'll share a few pics from today !:D

It had finally stopped raining for once today, the sun was out and the sky was blue. All the rain had bought out some new fungi to create interest amongst the moss and lichen.

I'd taken out my Ryan Weeks knife today, this knife is one of my favourites to use but for some reason I rarely post pics of it. The handle is quite possibly the most comfy of all my knives, definitely in the top few.
Anyway I figured I'd give it a workout trap making today.

A look at the area I was in today, still some nice colours to be seen.

We continued our hike back through the forest, the sun continually peeking through the trees as we went !

Thank you Pit for constantly contributing, and sharing your knowledge and the beauty of your surroundings with us..
(could do without the shirtless pics though_) LOL just kidding.

Great pics as always, Glad to hear it quite raining for a while lol. It is great to see the sun shine.

Thanks also for the kind words to pitdog. I agree with ya this a great forum and I am glad to have other forum members

like you on here also. I love the pics you post and so many of the other memebers that post pics also.

Bryan

Hmmm, dunno. maybe I don't get into hero worship or put people on pedestals, but to me it is just info sharing. There are many of us with specialized knowledge and or skills. And the ''teachers'' of the present were once the pupils of the past.

Thansk to you too Pitdog.

Your continued posts and superb photo's really keeps this place going.

I love your first and penultimate pics! Ffffffffffffantastic! (oops I just Mearsed!) :D

Thanks for being you Pit. I have learned a lot from your post. I always read everyone. Learned a lot about traps from your post.
You also give me good advice about buying my Tracker.
Jeff

It is not the size of your knife... but how you use it.
Send the rain our way 28 days and holding.
Pit is a good dude with good dogs. Glad to see both of them here.

Yeah some guys just can't understand that not all of us want to work on skills all the time. Sometimes you just want to take a walk in the woods and shoot some knife photos.

Goes without saying buddy, you provide more big knife eye candy than all the rest of us put together !!!

Few of us have the hiking area you do--and yes--I'm jealous

but still I look forward to all your EXCELLENT photos--and always will my brother

I'd done with the forum in mention but after recieving this e-mail tonight from a so call moderator after I'd already left the forum I had share and let you know what they are like !

"Grow the fuck up. Posting over on bladeforums about this place is fucking immature. All people were doing is trying to help you. Your ego wouldnt let you admit your skills are weak.. You refused to admit it and made excuses. Blaming the tool and the weather which is complete bullshit. I thought higher of you then that. Taking advise from people who are skilled is not a sign of weakness. Making excuses and threatining to take ur ball and go home, and blanket insulting the whole forum, then crying about it on another forum is.. I can build fire in the rain. Ive done it multiple times in just as wet of conditions you have there without man made tinder, lighter or fatwood. And Ive posted it. So I give less then a fuck if you can. I was just trying to help you as was Iz and Mr Black, and a few others. I know Iz personally. Ive spent many hours in the woods with him. You have no idea about the charicter of these guys in person. So trashing your experiance here does nothing but make you look like an ass. "

Nice bunch of guys eh ....now you know why I like this forum !

I can't figure out how to leave the forum for good without getting future e-mails, any advice is welcome !

1] Maximize dignity. Few people have high regard for a flounce. Over the years I've had a lot of people “do the flounce”, and even if they had any credibility to begin with it is lost all at once when they do that. 2] Get a spam filter and learn how to use it.

Well whatever happened on the other forum, I've truly enjoyed your posts and pics. You keep it light-hearted and down-to-earth.
