In the past couple of weeks I keep getting emails from members Ive never heard of asking If I want to buy "Real"/fake Benchmades and PCCs .. I also got a message from someone asking about where to buy one. I dont own any fakes, I only have 4 balisongs in the first place so Im not sure where all this is coming from. Has anyone experienced this?

I will tell you this. I sell on a auction site and it was a good site but for the past month there has been a bunch of counterfits/fake knifes on it selling as the real deal. the big give away is the price that they are asking for them. when buying out there please be careful.

I wouldnt buy a benchmade or pcc unless it was from a reputable member here! too easy to get conned. What I dont understand is why these people are emailing me from there Bladeforurms accounts about these fake/"real" knives when I havent posted anything about Benchmade or PCC in a few months... I also received an email from someone about a very cheap 42, It said it was sent from a Forum member on here and when I asked what there forum name was , they told me. Well I decided to look them up here and email them myself. They told me they had no intentions of selling there 42. So clearly that means someone is using reputable peoples names on this forum to rip people off.

There is malware out there that takes over computers and sends messages from them. Report them as SPAM.

Malware sending out random spam is on thing but sending offers for specific products to specific people obviously interested in knives is the act of an individual or group.

I have received several suspicious emails concerning items that I posted for sale long ago. When I look at the user they came from they are new users with absolutely no posts...

There are scammers among us!

is that not the truth.

I was just at a gun and knife show and I gut came up to me and told me he just bought a benchmande butterfly for $30.00. I asked him if I could see it. he showed it to me and I told him it was a fake. it had there mark on it and came in there box but the weight was all wrong. the handles where made out of pot metal.

Did he promptly walk back and shove it up the sellers barrel? :thumbdn:
I have noticed more and more scammers at the gun shows the past few years. For me, the knife and gun shows are my hangout and full of friends, hard to imagine being a sincere part of a group like that and trying to stick it to the other enthusiasts... Just saying...

when I did the knives and gun shows by myself I really had a good time. meeting all of the other dealers that where always there. just stop by there tables to say high to them. things have change big time since then.

The Gun shows are full of all kinds of fakes, including WW2 bayonets, swords, medals and the like. It pays to invest in some books/guides and spend some time on related forums to keep from being scammed. If your gut feeling is bad about a deal--it probably is.

Not much we can do about people emailing you when you don't tell us who is doing it.
If they are not at least Gold members, they are in serious violation of the Exchange rules.
