I just scared myself a little, i was unpacking my EDC's from work....

Endura? check
Native? check
Dyad Jr?.........
Dyad Jr?..........
DYAD JR?!?!?.....

The Precious is gone, goooneee, those tricksy hobbitses, always jealous of the Preciousss they are, we hatesss them, musst find the Precio.....

oh, here it is, hidden in a fold in my pocket, all along....

then i started unpacking the flashlights...

SureFire 6P; check
Inova X5; check
Fenix L1?...
Fenix L1?....
FENIX L1?!?....

(i left it at work, so of course, i *had* to go back for it, luckilly i'm only 15 minutes from work, and while i was in the car, i found my UV LED flashlight i though i had "lost" a week ago....)

keep an eye out for Flashlight and Knife Gnomes (distantly related to Underpants Gnomes), as they *love* to steal our tools

Step 1; collect knives and flashlights...
Step 2; ?????
Step 3; PROFIT!

;)

Just remember, your are NOT invisible with that Dyad out, no matter what the "precious" may tell you!

You carry three knives AND three flashlights everday at work?
Hehe, I feel less crazy now. I carry two knives and two flashlights myself:D Get quite the comments from less prepared people:jerkit:

I must be naked, only 3 knives and 2 flashlight...oh wait, I guess I can start eating raw fish too...

What exactly do you do for a living that requires you to carry 3 knives and 3 flashlights?

I have 5 forms of illumination on me at most times.

L&M Vega 85 lumen bike light
HDS EDC 42XR
ArcAAA (soon to be replaced with Fenix L0P)
SAK Swissbit with red LED
Photon Freedom Micro (violet).

And of course, my primary folder (plain edge), secondary folder (Spyderco SE--currently a Tasman Salt), LM Squirt S4, SAK Swissbit, Cybertool SAK, and a LM Charge XTi in the backpack).

One can never be too prepared.

i'm a Mac repair tech, and technicians *love* gadgets, flashlights are gadgets, knives are gadgets.....

the Dyad Jr sees the most use, as it's just the right size for 90% of my cutting chores, the Native is there in case i need a thicker/heavier duty blade, and the Endura.....well i honestly have no reason to carry the Endura, the Dyad and Native can handle all my cutting needs, but i carry it anyway, just in case....

the Fenix handles 90% of my illumination needs, the X5 is essentially a spare battery holder for the 6P (that just happens to make light, and is there in case i need an ultra-long running light at the expense of throw), and the 6P is there in case i need a light with good throw, like for illuminating roadsigns at night....

but honestly speaking? it's the gadget factor

today i'll try leaving the Endura in the car and see if i miss it....

Didn't you just hurt yourself on your "briefcase" on the "other" forum??? Bad day all around.

Hmmm - now I see that I'm not alone. I'm always carrying 2 or 3 knives (one being a small SAK), and a flashlight, and a Photon on the key chain...

I have been a little slack lately with only a folder and no flashlight . I used to carry a mag solitaire . I found it too inadequate to bother . This Felix L1 sounds like just the ticket . Where can I get one from a company that ships .
Thanks .

Nothing wrong with that. I carry probably more than I absolutly need but in no way is it excessive for what I do.

I carry a white LED Photon on my key ring and I have used it many times. I also carry a ball point pen that has a blue LED and laser. It sounds like a gimmick but sometimes that blue light will bring out markings that white light or yellow light can't. It works good on pencil marking on black surfaces. It shines the markings right up where the yellow or white light doesn't. I work on elevators and sometimes the old timers would write in pencil on the old style controlers and after years of dirt and carbon, the markings become invisable. I also carry a regular flashlight.

As for knives, I carry a Benchmade 921 Switchback, a SOG Powerlock and a folding razor knife for zipping boxes open.

These are things I use and are not there for looks. I can always go get a tool when I need one but with the things I carry among a few special elevator tools, I can often get done what I need to get done. I'm all for using the right tool for the job but sometimes it is not that important what tool you use. For example, if I have to unscrew a few screws, I would much rather just pull out the multi tool and get it done than have to go back and get a screw driver.
