Sorry to post this but I'm both super excited and stumped with this one.

It says (OLD TIME) in a long narrow oval. Underneath it appears to say WARRANTY or WARRANTED. Now the exciting part for me is that its a Rockaway, without a doubt. The reason I was so excited was I actually lived in Rockaway throughout highschool and still have family and friends there. Naturally I've been wanting to get my hands on one for a while.

I'll peruse the internet and see if my google fu can come up with anything. Picture of the full head?

Not sure if it says old timer or not but old time was very clear after removing some cancer.

Ran out and took a second look, the oval truncates just after the E in time, but isn't visible due to pitting on the other side. So looks like old timer might be off the list.

Looks like it's mostly surface so it shouldn't be too much of a problem! I'd recommend a water soak or a diluted vinegar mix so as not to ruin the patina.

I have found 4-5 of them, and the only axes that I have ever seen with those words are Collins axes.

Very cool, anyway to tell whether it from his company or post Collins buy out and their producing his Old Time pattern/label?

Collins had a line called OLD TIMER not sure if they ever made axes under the name old time. I'm guessing this one predates the Collins buy out as it doesn't look like any one I've seen. It has a well defined high center line with a very thin heel and toe.
