This thread again? :D

I was wondering if anyone could recommend something I may not have heard about for my next folder. I am really itching for something new to play with. I have gone through MANY EDC recommendation and picture threads but you all might know about some knives I'm not familiar with, you folks seem good at that.

Criteria:
$80 bucks street price or less if possible (a LITTLE bit extra is okay if it's worth it)
No AO please (have enough of those for my tastes already)
Preference of steels is usually s30v, 154cm, VG-10, AUS-8 if it's done right, but I try to keep an open mind with steels
One handed opening
I'm okay with thumb studs, deployment hole, and flippers, no main preference if I like the knife I like it
Plain edge
No tanto
Love me some smooth deployment
Medium to smaller sized please, I'm good on larger folders ATM
No top swedge
Prefer FFG, saber is okay but I am not looking for any hollow grinds right now
No blade play

Primary Uses:
General utility and EDC tasks
Light food prep (not primarily but I may need to use it on food here and there)

Thanks in advance and everyone have a great day!

'Sup Brother.

Checked out a Spyderco Chaparral ? Wiska' more than $80, but looks like it'll fit your criteria. (S30V, FFG, med. size, etc.)
And it's a "Spydy" (lol)

That Manix 2 XL is almost lookin' to good for me to resist ...

Buck vantage pro (s30v), Benchmade griptilian (154cm), Spyderco Native (S30v)

Hey RogueBowie! If you don't already have one, I'd suggest a Spyderco Dragonfly 2 or FFG Delica 4...

YMMV and MTFBWY :D

Sounds like you just described a RAT Model 1, an unbelieveable amount of knife for not a lot of money, IMO. In fact, you should have enough left over for some Wild Turkey. ;)

I'll also give a nod to the Buck Vantage Pro, but only if you can 'cherry pick' one for blade centering and smooth deployment.

There are MANY excellent knives that fit your criteria, but since you asked for suggestions you may not have thought of my suggestion would be the Kershaw Speedform 2. It can be had for around $75 if you look hard enough and is and excellent value at that price with Elmax blade steel and sculpted g10 scales.

My first recommendation was going to be a Buck Vantage Pro too. Then saw FFG was a wish.

Can't be a Vantage pro for the dough ... yuk, yuk, yuk

Spyderco Chaparral is a good suggestion. Rat-1 is a knife I feel like I've been right about to buy for the last year or so, something else always comes up but I do want one. Some great suggestions so far thanks everyone.
