I know that I need a stripper of gasket cleaner, BUT, i have a jug of lacquer thinner. I know it doesnt really work, but if I left my powder coated blade in the solution say a day? a couple days? a week? will the coating eventually get weak enough to where I can scrape it off? or is it a lost cause? If its possible, id rather do that iinstead of spending money on a stripper, but if its a lost cause, id rather not waste time leaving it in for a week for nothing. anyone have any idea about this?
edit: the powdercoating on a becker bk14(epoxy)? im guessing
Update: After soaking the blade in the lacquer for 5 plus hours...i start scrubbing the blade down with balled up aluminum foil, which i read somewhere online. I thought the coating was scraping off easily, but it was just the aluminum coloring on top of the blade. But the coating can be scraped off witha dull knife...kind of hard but doable . Dont know if thats because of the thinner or not.
