So I bought a box of chicken breasts from a local place.

The chicken was $1 per pound, for chicken breasts. Hormone and steroid etc free, free range....(allegedly).

They made a delivery to town, and you go pick the chicken directly up from these owners. The farm is about 1 1/2 an hour away.

The chicken is whole breast, so I had to do a bunch of trimming.

Sarsquatch with a sharp convex edge did great.

this was no where near the biggest breast. Just the first one I snapped a pic of.

This bag is just trimmings. There were 4 bags of trimmings this size by the time I was done.

Trimmed and repackaged.

Whole sink completely full.

make sure u bleach that knife!

Did not bleach it. I did scrub it down with a brush and lots of antibacterial dish soap and hot water.

Hopefully I survive.

I need to hit the edge with the strop.

The belly, where I made most of the contact with the cutting board is not hair shaving sharp anymore.

The plastic cutting board is terrible for edges.

Any secret recipes for the crockpot for the trimmings? Or is it for your dog?

Lots of work to trim up poultry like that...even with a busse.

I eat lots of chicken, everyday actually. And you did get them at a great price. Where the skinless and boneless?

Plucker knows chicken :D

From the crib to your rib in 6 weeks - USA feeds the world

I just had to do some trimming. They are big breasts. If you like that sort of thing.

Nope. I am ashamed to say, those trimmings went into the garbage. I don't have a mutt. My brother got rid of his dogs. I had no idea what else to do with them. It took about an hour. There was quite a bit of fat bits, and I also trimmed out the bit of connective tissue in every breast. Towards the top, on one side is a little spot where the muscle connects. I cut that little part out of every one.

I really need to get another grill. I had an old tiny charcoal hibachi that I got rid of when I moved. I used it to heat treat a knife, and it had been outside for 4 years rusting, so I figured I would finally get a better one. But, of course, I have not yet.

I only bought 40 lbs of chicken, because I was worried about eating it before it gets freezer burnt. We are double bagging it, but I don't have a food sealer.

It as a great deal though. My parents and brother both got a 40lb case.

We eat chicken a lot, so my wife was all over it.

I don't really know what chicken breast costs per lb, so my wife informed me it was a great price.

Chicken is THE white meat -

How long does it take you to go thru 40lbs?

Those trimmings are great for stews and soups - save them and donate them to the shelter if you aren't going to use them

Eat Chicken Now! forget bleaching the blade - this is USA grade A chicken Man! Just make sure you cook your eggs

Next time you could make homemade stock with it. No need to worry about the fatty or gristly bits, and you'll make the best chicken soup ever.

Just ate the first meal with it.

The wife pounded some flat, and stuffed it with pickled artichoke, sun dried tomato's and a blend of cheeses and sauteed it up. Delicious!

Since my heart surgery I eat so much grilled chicken that I kinda hunker down whenever a hawk flys over.
