First off. It seems that Busse makes knives for a while and switches designs and something else is made for a while. Is this correct?

Second. Looking at their website right now they have 3 models

GW
BATAC
Fusion battle mistress

I really like the looks of the BATAC but what is the difference as far as the prices?

Base price 227.00
LE 397.00

Thanks.

Currently , Busse Combat is taking orders for the Scotch Dispenser. The Busse Company Store has the Badger Attack Tac (style handle) LE (limited edition) for $397 and several colors of Game Warden for sale. The BATAC LE and GW are the only knives currently for sale and (nearly immediate) delivery. The base BATAC, Combat Grade or CG, was $227 but is now only available on the aftermarket such as the exchange here on Blade Forum or "that auction site". The BATAC LE is more expensive because of the thicker blade stock used and the special micarta used for the handle slabs.
Out of time. Others will fill you in on the rest. Welcome to INFI madness. Have fun. Pete

Thanks Pete. Limited edition makes sense now. I was thinking Law enforcement. Must be my mall ninja side.:D

There are a few ways to score INFI. The following seem to be the most popular with the hogs, piglets, rats, mice, junkyard dogs and other assorted mangey creatures you see here.

1. Directly from Busse Combat: From time to time (you'll see two weeks referenced here, but of course that is a joke) Busse will release a new model on their official website. Right now the Scotch Dispenser is the only one available directly from Busse. The Sus Scrofa was the previous model and is ready to be shipped now. The biggest issue with this method is that when you order a knife it may take months to get it. Some folks wait to see if the Company Store (see below) gets some once they are released and buy them that way. It took about six months for the BATAC LEs to go out.

2. Busse Combat Company Store: This is a Busse product only store run by Skunk and the Mrs out in the land of the killer potato. They typically have hats, shirts, and other stuff and when they are able to get stuff from the shop they have knives, which are usually available on the last page of the website. Recently there have been Game Wardens, BATAC LEs, Meaner Streets and some other stuff. This is probably the best place to get recently available INFI new and mint. Skunk and Mrs. Skunk are awesome and ship very quickly.

3. Bladeforums Exchange: A great place to ask questions and score Busse Family blades, especially discontinued models, collector's pieces, custom shop variants, etc. Basically it's just a matter of time before what you want comes up for sale here. All you need is an unlimited bank account and you can get pretty much whatever you heart desires.

4. E-bay: You know the deal there I'm sure.

5. Knife Show like Blade, Blade West, Knob Creek etc. Good luck as you'll undoubtedly be trampled by the big hogs at any of these venues.

6. Busse Extravananzaaaas: You can do a search for ganzaaa and it should bring up some threads explaining this madness. They typically follow a big show like Blade where Busse sells off the stuff they didn't sell at the show. The trick here is that Jerry will announce the date, time and models available for the ganzaaa and you need to sit by your computer ready to send an email immediately to him and a few other Busse staff with your requests. If your lucky you get what you want (or some of what you want). If not head to the exchange and wait.

I'm sure there are other ways, but someone else can deal with them.

I hope this was helpful. The crew over here at Busse and Swamp Rat are great folks. Extremely willing to help and answer questions. Just don't tell them where you hide your INFI. They have been known to case out homes and stampede their way in when you least expect it.:D
