He's putting out a line of knives and gear at SMKW's and they look.... interesting. The machete is obviously being made by Condor and theres a tomahawk design with the same handle but I'm wondering about the large folder mainly. It's got a 5 1/4" AUS8 (probably 8cr13mov) blade and looks decent online but so do alot of things that don't work well IRL. Just wondering if I bought it if I would regret it.

I'm not a fan of the recurve tanto blade style. I'd rather have a Cold Steel XL Voyager for pretty much any purpose.

They look... I don't like them... especially the machete.

First off, the folding guards... gimmicky and fragile looking.
Second, the locking system... I don't trust a liner lock on a blade over 5 inches long - those extra inches mean the "lbs per inch" rating of the lock will be much less. Leverage.

I like megafolders though. I'd probably buy one if it came with a Tri-Ad, Axis or compression type lock.

My thoughts on seeing the line:

Don't like them AT ALL. Regarding the folding guards on the folder, they seem to only be intended to prevent the hand from sliding forward--they just fold out until they hit a stop pin. That machete makes me want to puke, even if it was contracted through Imacasa/Condor.
