I have 2 Manly folders. The smaller Wasp and the Peak are both S90V steel and thin behind the edge. Both appeared to have 15° factory bevels and both seemed to sharpen well on the Sharpmaker set to 15° (30° inclusive). However only the Wasp acquired excellent sharpness. Today I rechecked the Peak and again found the sharpie marker to be removed on both bevels to visual inspection with good lighting, though no magnification. I thought I might be experiencing micro chipping at the apex, something not correctable by me.
With my adolescent coping skills I figured "WTF, I'll spend some money to feel better!" and prepared to sit at the screen and try to snag the PM2 in DLT's exclusive 20CV release. Before doing this I grabbed the Sharpmaker set at 20° this time and took a few passes with the fine and ultrafine rods to add a microbevel. The Peak became so sharp that I cut my thumb with slight accidental contact. It slices paper wonderfully, too. I guess the factory angle was just greater than 15°, enough to miss the apex in sharpening but close enough to pass the sharpie test. Anyway that's my story. Someone else will have the excellent PM2 while I smile at the bandaid on my thumb.
