Butt, I have fallen in love with the 15.
I've loved the 5 for quite some time and didn't understand the draw of a smaller version. Now I get it. I've been carrying it everywhere, cutting anything that needs to be cut and quite a few things that didn't.
What else have I been missing and what kind of mods are you doing to these little beauties?

The 15 is a top contender in my line up too. Great for food prep and not too shabby for most camp and bushcraft chores.
As far as mods go, I keep it simple - strip it, patina, G10 or Micarta scales and maybe new pants.

I agree the 15 is great and has become my kitchen knife. I must say though it is cabable of far more as we all well know. Other than tommy timber handles i have left mine stock, but it is now in a nice leather sheath as in the pic (top knife in brown sheath) below.

I kept mine pretty much stock. I put my own edge on it and polished the rough coating on the blade until it was a glass like texture :D

I've been smitten by the 15 for some time and often recommend it over the other Tweeners.

I smile when another falls under the 15's spell. ;)

No mods yet for my 15's cuz I swore I'd not start another project till I finish my 10 and 5 mods. But I have several things in mind.

I've seen some bk15 love the last few years. But now that it is being discontinued why the big and numerous showing? I've had my 15 for a whil now and it has become the most used Becker that I own. In glad to see it is finally catching on just sad that it will be going away.

Ethan told me to whittle a pole or two to get the feel of the knife and test it's sharpness. I may be busy for a while...

I love the polishing idea. Thanks, that is something I'm going to try.

 I got the idea from another Beckerhead because I wanted to be able to use the 15 in the kitchen. When you use it on wood after polishing it tends to scratch the polish a tiny bit.

I used it to snap cut through all this:

Good things is, you use some 2k grit paper and it polishes right up again.

Stupid question TBL bit did you start with 2k grit? I'm guessing not. That is a fantastic idea. I like my smooth coated 5 and wished the 15 was the same and now I can get it to the same state. Awesome idea bud.

When I did the patina on my 12, I noticed the coating I left under the handle got smoothed down a lot just from the vinegar bath. Not slick but very even about like a 600 grit feels. I thought about trying it on a blade I plan to strip before I strip it just to see how it'd turn out. It also made it gray until I oiled it up. Even after washing it was still gray after it dried.

Springy, I started with 600. I just wanted to get to the bottom of the 'pits' in the coating. As soon as they were mostly gone I went up to 800, 1000, then 2000.

Where you at?
I'll bring that Bonecutter over and we'll have a party!
Speaking of which, how's the arm feeling after swinging that badboy last weekend?:D

That's the papermill in Toledo OR. Even you can get wood there.
:D
My arm feels great. I need a Becker kukri though.
