The before and after pictures of these 422's.

I hope these pictures reveal the mirror polish of the burgundy 422.

It was fun and a learning experience.

Tell me more....

I thought that I could simply buff the rocker bar and the adjacent areas on both sides of the rocker and produce a mirror finish. Most knife guys know that a mirror finish on steel will resist corrosion better than steel that is more porous. How wrong could I have been.LOL

The minute that I started to buff this area I discovered that the plastic handle material started to melt.OMG! So I had to resort to hand sanding these parts with a fine grit and then progressing to ultra fine 5K grit.I then finished with some Flitz.

Nothing complex, just working carefully with the appropriate material until the desired result is obtained.

Next up is the Ecolite series.Stay tuned.

The Ecolite should polish up nice. The paper Micarta is mostly epoxy so you should get a nice shiny finish on it! (and you won't have to worry about it melting)
