I like the Badger

After reading all the hype about Busse, I have to try one.

I am seeing that the Badger is currently available. Am I to understand that Busse offers a different model every 3 months or so? If so, how long has the Badger been listed? Reason I am asking is due to the fact that I am going on an ATV trip and my wife is going to Italy, then to New York, so play money is a little tight right now. Like the looks of the Badger, and the price. Just hope its out another month or so.

Question about scales. Busse lists standard grips, and 'magnums'. How much thicker are the magnum grips (assuming magnum refers to being larger or thicker in this case)?

Added: Found the magnum definition in the definitions sticky. So how much thicker?

Jerry Busse lists his knives for variable amounts of time -- possibly depending on how fast they sell. The BATAC should be up for at least 3 months -- I think it's been about a month now (I forget, since I ordered mine very early). I wouldn't worry too much -- the Busses are kind enough to let folks know (through this forum) when time is about to run out.

And afterwards, the crafty IdahoSkunk always seems to have some to sell at his Busse Company Store (a separate company, BTW).

So you should have every opportunity to order a few BATACS...just like the rest of us.

I can't give you an exact number on the extra thickness of the magnums. The modern grips shape to the hand and are not flat. The standard grips on my CG FBM are a little thin to me, while the magnums on my FBM LE are nice and palm filling. I'd say the magnums are about 50% thicker -- but remember, the handles are CONTOURED.

Do a little searching and you'll see plenty of pictures of Busses with standard v. magnum grips. Perhaps the pictures will be more helpful for you.

like op said, the badger will be up at least another three months. but order now to make sure, and you wont be charged until the knife is ready anyway.

meh.. ATVs, Italy, New York.. they'll still be there months from now, but Busse knives WON'T!
So if you see one you like.. buy it NOW!
..as others have said card won't get dinged until later anyways.

If you wait till Later.. you may end up with only Regret.

Yeah, skip NYC, it got nothing special to see! Crowded street, actually is dirtier than most of city, annoying high school kids speak/laugh loudly on subway/bus, shows other no respect. Kids are annoying these days, they all try to talk & dress like they know rap. Always wonder where their parents at. Errr......

It is just like other city, safe yourself a few bucks or two and buy some BA. ;)

Did someone mention BAdger???????
How about old school. :D

I am not a big city guy, so New York is not for me. My wife however, is the one going.

I'll be in lovely Bruno, WV for three fun filled days, then back to work. The wife will be jet setting till March 31. Doesn't seem fair...

I am going to call Busse tomorrow and see when I could expect delivery. Maybe I'll let her know after she gets back as to what I bought.

I can't really discern whether the new Badger's blade is just a shortened SJTAC or a somewhat wider contoured blade.

Anyone heard from the shop on this?

Rick,

It doesn't fit in with your collection theme of satin/black paper.
I probably better keep it here so it can be with friends. :D
That is unless of course you are willing to part with your Guzzi.

I can't imagine what was done to the Badger on the right ;) ...any plans for a refurb from the shop? Or will you use it like I did :D

AWGunS, please send me an email. thanks!

email sent.

My Dachshund would have fun at your place Mulder.

I assume that is only part of your collection?

Forgot to take Busses phone number to work with me today. Will be calling tomorrow to place the order. Black, with black g10scales.
