This one arrived in my mail box today and I'm quite pleased.

I got to handle one of these at Blade last year and was on the fence. The design looked different than what I would expect from Kershaw and I wasn't in love with translucent G-10 handle. I loved the weight and the low-rider pocket clip. Clearly I've moved past any reservations I had about this knife. :p I'll be carrying this one around for a while.

It looks to me like the stud would get in the way when cutting and sharpening. Does it stick out aa far as it looks like?

I liked it more after I handled one in person. It's hard to judge a knife from just pictures. It's especially hard to gauge size which really affects the feel in the hand. Like the Tilt I found it to be such an unusual design that it kind of had to grow on me. I like the translucent G10 and seeing the speedsafe bar flex inside. Your pics are a more accurate color than others I've seen where the G10 looks more "lemony" when the actual color is quite nice I hope though that they'll also find the time to release this in the black and OD that Thomas posted some time ago. I'd love one in a stonewash finish with OD or a gray translucent if there is such a product available.

Looks great, I am finding I really like Kershaws designs better then the other major players.

I really need to hold one. I don't like the look of it. The "clearness" makes it seem like the handle is made of a chunk of plastic. I know it's not, but that is what my eyes tell me. Hopefully it feels different to were I can get past the look.

The Echelon is a knife I like so much that it makes me consider carrying one even thought it's illegal where I live. People seem to dislike the design, but I really like the organic, natural look of it.

darn that extra 1/4 inch.

It would depend on what you're using to sharpen. I use the paper wheels for almost all my users and there won't be problem there. I put this knife to one of my stones and although there isn't a lot of wiggle room, it should be fine.

Man, I can't find these available yet online. If anyone knows who has them in stock please let me know.

3.25 inch blade lengths shouldn't exist as far as I'm concerned. Either go for 3" so that people in more knife unfriendly states can carry them, or, 3.5" for people who want a "big" folder. The in between just kills me, especially knives that are 3 and 1/8" (which I am willing to take a risk on).

I think due to the shape it may look smaller than it is without something for perspective. It is 1/4 longer than the Leek with wider handles. If I remember correctly it fills the hand similar to a Blur. It has a tiny bit less blade from the specs and G10 to me feels a lot different and handles differently than an aluminum handle especially with trac-tec inserts that have some give to them. In the pictures the G10 seems to come out paler and more transparent. Like the Tilt I found it to be really very nice in person but wasn't initially interested judging from just pictures. I've said it looks "lemony" but I think it looks really nice in person and not as odd of a yellow. Others tastes as always may differ from mine and I don't need to take more crap for having an opinion of my own! I will accept crap for being an obnoxious know it all though... I'm trying not to be one all the time!

Kershaw keeps saying that these have shipped a couple months ago, but I think only one person on this site has one.

Same with the Knockout. Nobody seems to mention the Piston.

Nobody knows where they have shipped to.

Yea I keep reading that "shipped" thing but why doesn't anybody have any at ANY of the normal retailers? Cabela's got Pistons but I'm not going to pay $80 + shipping for one when other retailers (if they had them) have them advertised in the mid $60 range.
