I like the look of this !

It's a neat concept, thats for sure. I don't like their method of attaching knife to staff... Those little spring button locks fail way too easily under pressure. Folding table companies use them for adjustable table legs, and they seem to break all the time. Stabbing something with that would probably break the button fairly quick...
 
I like this as well. I think i would have a grade 8 bolt/nut combo with me, just in case the spring button lock did fail. Or just modify it before it broke.
 
I would be concerned that the double edged blade would be considered an illegal dagger in many areas. Tops makes a lot of good products, but their pricepoint is a bit high to my thinking.
