My family loves riding on the (rails to trails)..Its a biking network around PA that uses all the de-active rail lines..GEC is super close to one of our favorite riding areas and I just informed the wife one weekend we have an additional pit-stop..GECs prices are on the high side so I have until the weather warms up to save my lunch money...

I went there with my son in the summer time, it was a blast. We met Bill Howard and he gave us a tour himself. Great people there.Just to let you know, their store does NOT have their full catalog. Just a select 20-25.

I envy you my friend, make sure to take lots of pics.

Rails to trails is an awesome program, we have it here in Florida too.

Rails for Trails is a great program. I have ridden a few old RR beds in PA in my time. My Dad loved them. Even bought a couple benches to be placed along the trail.

Stopping at GEC would be fun, but I would have no idea as to what to expect in terms of a reception.

In my case, that would be a baaaad thing. :D

They would be glad to see you. They would give you a tour of the plant and just generally be good folks. GEC will show you around the Factory any Business Day,if you get there before 2 PM.

My family has a cabin 30 minutes away from titusville. Come may when I finish graduate school and (hopefully) get a job in my field, I will be taking the drive to find out what all the hooplah is about. The knives look and sound fantastic and I'm excited to get first hand experience

That sounds pretty cool. I would love to take a week off, and spend time traveling to the GEC, Queen and Case factories. Also, get a little fishing and hiking in up there. I finally have a good vehicle, my Silverado, and can save up for either a trip like I just mentioned, or a weeklong stay in OC with my family.

I think the PA knife factory trip gets top billing :D.

The last time I traveled out that way we went as a family and I bored my wife and sons to tears in the Zippo/Case museum :D

It also cost me a relative fortune, but there were Zippos there unavailable anywhere else. A lot of fun (for me!), but very expensive ;)

I went to the Zippo/Case museum years ago with my father..We stayed there for at least an hour and both enjoyed it..At the time money was tight and I left without a Case soviener , might have to find a rails to trails up there as well,lol...Many people don't realize the history Zippo has with our country..
