Alright. It happened. I lost my beloved bearing flipper today. It was one of this Milwaukee branded Hardline 3.5 knives. Cost me like 75 AU and was the first modern type folder I've ever had. I loved that little son of a gun. And today I lost it. So now I need t replace it. I'm looking at something a bit more expensive, better quality etc. I was thinking something along the lines of a ZT 0450 or 0452 CF. However I am pretty open to ideas and lower budget options. What would be your recommendation for a good bearing flipper in a drop point or trailing edge blade between 3.25-3.75 inches and around 70-150 dollars. (Happy to hunt the secondary markets as well).
Cheers,

Do you want a large knife that fills the hand or something smaller for light to moderate EDC?

I don't like every ZT, but the two you mentioned are awesome. The 0452 is a large knife for my tastes, but it's always a tempting me to buy--can't imagine I won't give in at some point.

IMO the 0450 is an all time classic. It's a great EDC and will never be absent from my collection. It doesn't fill my hand enough for heavy use (that's not its design intent) and I wish it were a bit thinner behind the edge. Nevertheless it is one of my favorites.

If you want to stay on the cheap, I've been impressed with the Kizer Vanguards I've held. Most folks seem to like the Steel Will Cutjack too. For some reason the 'mainstream' Kizers I've held (such as the Gemini) haven't done it for me; ymmv.

Cheers lads. The cut jack hadn't run across my radar before. I like a hand filler but being easy to carry is the more important thing for me atm

Do yourself a favor and watch the exchange for someone that will ship int'l for a Spyderco Mantra 1.
You can find them for around $100usd, and they are one of the better carry options going.

Bearing flipper, M4 with Ti slabs and a lockbar insert. Due to the thumb hole, it can be opened easily, or use the flipper tab to open normally. Slim in pocket and takes a Great toothy or polished edge, and built as a slicer from the ground up. Because of the toughness of M4, it can take a bit of lateral loading too.

Just a great EDC option.

I like my Milwaukee as well. The ZT 801 that I have is a good match for it. Same size blade and close in weight. Like NJBillK said, keep an eye on the exchange for your best deal.

Another vote for ZT 0801. It has been discontinued but if you look hard, you can find one NIB/LNIB for less than $150.
