I lost my dad's knife 20 years ago and want to find it for him.

When I was a Boy Scout my dad let me take his knife camping. I lost it on the trip.

I would like to find the type of knife it was and buy a new one for his birthday. The problem is I'm not sure exactly what it was and I'm hoping someone might have an idea.

It was a folding Buck Knife, probably a 4 inch blade. I remember him saying it was a Dave Cook special anniversary edition (50 or 75 year?) but I don't see anything about a Dave Cook special edition. Perhaps I am miss-remembering the name.

He would have bought it somewhere in the late 80's to early 90's.

Any ideas from people who are really in to knives?

Folding buck with 4" blade sure sounds like a 110 to me. They are very common and there are many versions to choose from:)

110 would be my guess from the description. I'm sure some buck fans will be along to shed some more light on the details

How about I move this to the Buck knife forum.
Lots of knowledgeable enthusiasts there.

Perhaps it was a Boone & Crockett model Buck 110. Dave...Davy. Cook...Crockett.

Was it brass with wooden handles... Was it a lock back ...

Here's a 110 did it look like this...

:)

Well the Boone and Crockett may not be the exact I lost as it was purchased sometime around 1990 but this may an acceptable alternative.

Thanks for the help guys.

That's the Boone and Crockett Club. That knife is only a few years old. OP stated around 20 years ago.

He specifically mentioned Boone and crocket so I thought he might like these anyhow, if he can't find what he wants. Shrug

It was me that jumped to conclusion that it might be a Boone and Crockett. It sounded similar to what was mentioned in the first post. I didn't know when they were made either. So, it's probably not one of those.

I do recommend checking out the Buck website. They will make a nice custom 110 for you.

I second the idea of having a replacement 110 made by the Buck Custom Knife Shop. It might not be the particular model you lost, but it would have special meaning as you customized it for him.

He'll love it. It will come from his son, will be close to what he had, and will be a good knife. It will mean a lot to him.
