Bought some CRK Grease from a semi local knife shop and WOW does it do wonders! :D

Had recently purchased a used Lg Seb 21 and needed a re-lube and already putting out so much for CRK's in the first place I figured I mind as well go with the CRK Grease. And it did NOT disappoint!

Absolutely love the stuff! Buttery/Silky smooth with the least amount of grease.

The key is "A little goes a long way!" I also really like my CRK grease

I agree! It's the only grease I use on knives period! And talk about a deal. It takes so little to do the job. One tube should last a very long tine.

The grease is great, and the applicator is truly superior.

I had a little surprise when I stripped the oil from my S*co Gayle Bradley and re-lubed it with CRK grease. It is super smooth now, but the grease didn't slow up the knife to any noticeable degree. It's an outstanding product!

I have to disagree, I find that mixing the fluorinated grease with a little extra virgin olive oil and applying it with a turkey baster works much better. I'm totally kidding, just got a new tube earlier this week and re-greased my zaan and sebenza- love the stuff. By the way- it's nice to see a post from somebody who likes Reeve's products just as they come- tired of listening to people moan about Chris Reeves' incredible workmanship.

That applicator could use some improvement :D

I was just kidding BTW. Best dang applicator too. It's great for precise application of grease

I'm not planning on taking my Umnumzaan apart any time soon, but if I ever get another Large Regular Sebenza I'm getting a tube of CRK Grease to go with it. :)

All my other knives use Tuf-Glide though.

I am with you guys about liking the CRK grease. Lifetime supply for me in one syringe, even though I have multiple CRK folders. Agree to about using it on other knives.

Just curious?
when you guys grease up the washers for the seb do you grease both sides of the washers? I had been leaving the washer sides facing the Ti dry and the sides facing the blade greased. Should I be putting grease on both sides?

Probably a silly question...

Not silly, maybe anal, but in that case you're in the right forum... ;)

I always grease both sides but I always disassemble the knife entirely. If you follow the CRK instructions and just slip blade, bushing and washers out of a still-assembled pair of scales, it's probably a waste of lube or very close to that, since you'll rub very nearly all of the lube off the outer side of the washers as you slide it in. I suppose a very thin film might remain, and that is probably more than is needed, so the bottom line is probably: do whatever you want and don't think too hard about it. :D

FWIW, I think I recall official CRK advice that no lube is needed on the Ti side of the washers anyway...I could be mis-remembering...

Been wanting to buy some of that grease for a while. Reading all this just prompted me to buy it.

Why do you grease both sides? The side that faces the handle doesn't need any lubrication since the handle doesn't move.

Because it's possible, though I admit unlikely, that the washer might rotate. In any case, it can't cause any harm, even if it is unlikely to do much good.

I guess the only harm is you'll use up more grease. One tube will only last you about 20 years instead of 40

I was thinking the same thing but was too lazy to tap that out. :D BTW, that applicator is, bar none, the best OTS lube applicator around for grease-type lubes.

Just ordered my first syringe of it. I didn't want to order direct cuz of the $13.95 shipping, found a place with free shipping so it was a damn easy call after that.
