Just got my Leatherman Supertool, the original, not the 200, for $28 shipped, brand new unused.

Now I can retire the Wave, I missed the locking tools and the ruler.

You can find a lot of bargains on Ebay, if you know how and where to look. You can also find a lot of crooks too.

It depends on the knife. I've found some incredible deals on eBay while other times a web seller can do better.

If your an savy auction person, that is, have been to enough real auctions to get past the auction fever, have patience to wait to get what you want, and the patience to wait to get the price you want, your odds of having a good Ebay experience are pretty good.

Just like in real life the saying "Let the buyer beware" holds a lot of water on Ebay, but if your educated on your item, ask questions of the seller, and check his feedback, your chances of getting burned are less.

Leatherman needs to go the route of the Swiss Tool and have a damn ruler on the handle of all their tools...sooo easy and soo handy.

I recently scored an NIB Mnandi w/ Bocote inlays for $235.00 on eBay. I almost fell off my chair when I received confirmation that I had won w/ that bid.

I scored a matching numbered set, large and small, classic sebenzas,
NIB, for $350!! Best knife deal I've ever gotten.
John...

I just watched an old Spyderco Endura with a broken off plastic pocket clip sell for $41..........I mean the new ones are less than that..........People get caught up and can't stop bidding I guess.

i picked up an ATS-55 endura, used but in good shape, for 20 bucks a coupla weeks ago. i figure i came out alright.

Back in early July I got a lg. reg. Sebbie and a Spyderco Pro-Grip SS, both for $270.
I've gotten some good deals on ebay.

I got a Delica the other day for $40 + $6 shipping and it arrived in less than 20 hours from payment. I couldve waited to get it at $38 but used "Buy It Now" instead. I wouldve bought it from a dealer but no one accepted PayPal.

Agreed. I dont know how many times I have to go find a small ruler. Ive been thinking about getting a keychain tape measure. I have a Wave.

We don't even sell much on there, we would have to go out of business! :)

I managed to snag a pretty good knife bargain on eBay, last week.

A brand new Cold Steel SRK, for a few pennies over $33. Even after shipping, it set me back under 40 bucks. And this wasn't a factory 2nd, either. Came in the box, with kydex sheath.

Seller had over 400 feedbacks, with a 99.8% positive rating, so I wasn't too worried about dealing with him. (eBay's feedback system is very far from perfect, but even so...)

Knife arrived a couple of days ago. Exactly as described.

I'm hoping to find a Cold Steel Bush Ranger on the 'Bay, for some outrageously low price. But they seem fairly uncommon, probably since they've been discontinued. (Interestingly, CS still has Bush Ranger 2nds in stock.) A ridiculously inexpensive Trail Master would be nice, too.

Meantime, I'm happy with the SRK. It cost me less than Cold Steel's price for an SRK 2nd, and the big #2 on the factory second would've bothered me, even if the 2nds are perfectly fine at a functional level.

You can pay with PayPal, even at places that don't accept PayPal.

1. Log onto PayPal/Go to your account.
2. Click on "Shops," way down at the bottom of the page.
3. Click on "Shop Anywhere," about halfway down, way over on the right of the screen.

That'll take you to the Shop Anywhere page, where PayPal creates a virtual Mastercard, funded from your PayPal balance.

Note that although there's a space for you to enter the store's url, you can simply enter any url you please, and the Virtual Credit Card window will still pop up at the bottom of the screen, giving you your credit card's number, expiration date, etc. This is handy if you're buying from a store that doesn't have a url - like if you're ordering from a catalog or by phone. (Obviously, it may not pop up if you fail to suspend any pop-up blocking software you may be using.)

Since many more places accept Mastercard, than accept PayPal, I find this PayPal feature to be quite useful.

I tend to only buy things that I have trouble finding here in Canada.

My last two purchases:

BK7 - $44.50+10.00 shipping
CMG Infinity Ultra - $14.99+5.00 shipping

Hard to tell if how well I've done though since there aren't any brick-and-mortar stores here to compare with.

How'd I do?

there's one guy on there who sells ontario m9s for a pretty good price...until it gets to you and you see the little "M" burnt into the blade...i contacted the company and sure enough, factory second...the jerk said he'd give me $10 off my next purchase...great, $10 off of junk! well, not junk, but a user, not a collectible...
