I just received this email so I thought I would pass it on. I will not be responding to this thread. I will instead be drinking. It is however what I expected from these idiots who care not and know not.

The view of the world is once again safe from `100 year old knives with one inch blades and open with a bobby pin ( like spring ). While Anthrax dirty bombs and the world trade center still remain minor problems we are safe from seeing or knowing of this portion of history of america or the people who created it. LT.

Hey Lt,
Got the bad news today so I thought I'd just relay it to you. The bill got squashed in the Codes Committee and never made it to a vote even though it had an amendment excluding NYC. The committee is made up of 18 people of which 13 come from below Rockland and Westchester and one from Buffalo.
Again, it's just another example of NYC dictating the laws of NYS.
Gunther says she'll try again this fall by adding some sort of amendment or by persuading the committee to put it to a vote. I've asked Tom Kirwan, who's on the committee, just who was against it and their reasons why (although I think it may have something to do with dreaded switchblade word).

Stupidity reigns! All the more reason to stock up on ammunition! And switchblades!

Lt,
Have one or two (or3 or4) for me, would ya? Just remember it's better to get pissed off than pissed on. We ain't quite done yet with these A-holes!
I told you before ....... I'm persistant.

It was a grass roots effort to get the word out. It's wounded, but not dead. As long as we keep the faith, anything is possible.

Hey, it took the Red Sox 86 years to win their next world series. So all bets are off.

Keep us in the loop, maybe next time we can get even more ground swell of support.

Like many of my letters letters to politicians it didn't have the desired result. But that doesn't mean I will stop trying. :grumpy:

Sorry that it didn't work this time but I am sure there will be another shot at it.

It is not a problem here in Oregon (except in some municipilities), the state constitution is one of the strongest on the right to keep and bear arms (much to the chagrin of the libs). A guy got arrested for carrying a switchblade some years ago and took it to the supreme court. It was declared an armament and therefore his right to carry it was protected by the Oregon State constitution. In Oregon you can walk into Sportsman's Warehouse, or any other cutlery store, and choose from a fine selection of automatics.

On the brighter side.......did anyone watch the College World Series?
How about those Beavers!

Lt,
Shut off the big apple's water !!
As I recall, most of it comes from the Catskills near you.

...did anyone watch the College World Series?...
I watched some, the sound of the metal bats hitting reminded me of my College years (though I only played intramurals softball), we still used wood when I played baseball in Little league through High school).
