I picked up 2 Compass Ind. Cho No Shi's, one NIB with black micarta and one slightly used with red micarta. Get this... I paid $25 for the red and $29.95 for the black!!

I also picked up a Parker with stag inserts for $40.
I about fell over myself when the dealer told me the price on the Cho No Shi's.

WOW!!!

Is there any way you could put up a couple pics of them??

I got a Cho No Shi from a gun show a while back. Don't remember what I paid for it though

Thanks guys. Yeah, I have flipped the one with red micarta. It appears to have been someone's carry piece for a short time. It has some minor tip damage that they repaired, and a minor wear marks on the micarta from pocket carry. Of the two, this is the one I would use. The black Cho No Shi is LNIB. It may have been flipped a few times before I took ownership, but I have only admired it, so far.
The Parker is pretty well used. The handles are loose, but it still is smooth. It has very nice balance. The blade has a few minor scratches, which I find suprising because it has a needle sharp factory tip.
I will get pics up ASAP. The dealer said he tried to keep them in stock (I wonder where he gets them???), so maybe I can score a few more and pass them along. He also had, what looked like a BM 239, but I did not look at it. I thought it would have been a cheapie, so I passed. Now I am kicking myself for not even looking

Sabo, Mini's are nice rifles. Does yours have the folding stock?
My friend picked up a Colt A4 Match Carbine for $850. It is used, but only a little. I wish I spotted it before he did.

I heard that one of the Mini's, the 14 or the 30, that if you put a 30 rd clip in it, fire all 30 rds in rapid fire, that any more than that will warp the barrel. Is that true? What kind of medal do they use.? Sounds like it is always softer than knife blades.

Yeah I have a couple of stocks, one is a folder...a Choat made in Ark. I think she's nice.

Have three 40's that go with it. I know the guy who sold it to me even went to break it in with him. So far the barrel is true.

Oh BTW Phillip, My buddy just got a AR15 match grade off of a local Deputy. Nice Colt! $850 on that one also!

I'd like to hear more about the Compass Ind. knives that you got. Scans are nice.

Sabo, $850 is a good deal, especially when I was looking at an FNC that was $2800!
The CI's are very nice knives. Solid brass handles with thin micarta inserts. They have the "old brass" look. The red one I have played with has great balance. At first I was surprised by how heavy the knife felt, especially compared to a BM 42. BIG difference to say the least. It makes a solid "clack" when opening and closeing. The movement feels ponderous compared to the Parker which is very fast.
I really want to find some more of these Cho No Shi's. If I were legally able to carry a bali song, this would be it. Well, the red one or a BM 42.
I think I first heard of the CI's at Chuck's site(?) under the market watch section. If you are looking for more info, that would be a good place to start.

Harvie, I never heard that about a Mini 14. Sounds like something a gunshop commando would say. Texas DPS issues the Mini 14 as a patrol rifle and my instructor never mentioned a problem. Another old friend owned an AC 556 (full auto Mini 14) and the only problem he had with it was that he never had enough ammo.
Anagarika, our current gun shows pale by comparison to the shows 10 years ago. There was so much more available at reasonable prices. Still it's nice to have them. If you ever make it to Texas try to make a show in Dallas or Houston. They have the larger gun shows
