I just finished this "Ishtar" fighter with a piece of gorgeous figured Ironwood. Sadly, I couldn't take a picture to save my life (notice how I even cropped off the tip- that's just sad), but here's my attempt.

Blade length: 8.5 inches
Total length: 14 inches
1/4 inch 5160 (dark etched patina)

One day I'll get the hang of this photography thing!

That is one of the nicest pieces of Ironwood that I have seen. Not really a big fan of Persian style blades, but then again this isn't my knife so that really doesn't matter does it?

Thanks for the encouragement! I found the Ironwood at a local gun show, where an awesome woodworker was showing his stuff and had an axtra couple pieces, which I snatched up. The pictures don't do it justice.

Robert- thanks! The finish is ferric chloride etched over a light blast, then hand sanded lightly, then re-etched, and sanded again. The temper line is wierd on this knife- a sharp darkened area from the start of the grind diagnal across the spine.
