It came today, a belated Father's Day gift! It's a beauty and sharp (literally shavin' sharp).

If the Spyderco crew were here, I'd give them all a big hug and kiss (guess you're lucky I'm so far away).

Thank you Sal, Vince, Danelle, Joyce and the whole crew!

And thanks to Mike and Spark (no kisses or hugs, just a manly handshake).

I would also like to thank everyone involved with the BladeForums Native. The fit and finish of this knife has surpassed my expectations. Thanks to everyone at Spyderco.

I wasn't as smart as you guys. I ordered a neck sheath with mine and because of it I'm still waiting. Hey Spark, what gives with these sheaths, are they on their way or what?

I got my BF Native yesterday. I am VERY pleased with it. Thanks for a great knife. I need to get a Stainless steel handled one to complete the set.Spyderco Rules

I got my Blue Native today! I got it out of the packing and finally had the chance to handle this excellent and special piece.

Congratulations on such fine work, it was well worth the wait.

Now, if you will excuse me, I'm going out into the back yard, raise my hands over my head, and bow deeply from the waist as face west toward Golden, Colorado!

Thanks for a great knife all!

I missed the big, brown truck yesterday, and was crying at the sight of the little yellow delivery notice that said UPS was holding my BF Native and not me!

but *today* it's a different story...

it has been said elsewhere, but i'll reiterate that the Native is the biggest little knife i've ever held. just 1/8" longer than my Delica, but much beefier. i really like the heft that the G-10 gives the knife (over the Zytel).

One question: it seems odd to me that the thumb hole is slightly obscured by the handle when closed. Is this true on the other two versions? and I've never seen that on any other Spyderco. was this a concession made in the Native's design process?

thanks to all who made this happen: Mike, Spark, Sal & Co.

Art, I too am awaiting aBF Native with sheath. I asked Spark about these about a week ago and the scoop is that Mike of River City Sheaths is waiting on the material and will make and ship them as soon as the material arrives & turn them around to Spark, who'll promptly send them to us. This is all with a bit of human error factored in (things like sleep and travel time via brown truck), so be patient, soon we'll be talking about our fine Natives with our very cool carbon fiber (look) neck sheaths, making those who didn't get one jealous.

Art and Brian - I'm with you guys...it'll be hard, but I think it should be worth the wait. Just wish I'd made it up to the blade show and gotten it up there. Oh well...so it goes

Demand for Carbon Fiber Concealex has out stripped supply and factory is playing catch up on orders. they have to make a special run in the proper thickness for the sheaths. Victor says it will be ASAP. As soon as the material gets to me, I will drop all other projects until BF Native sheaths are done. I even had to let mine go at Blade Show - enjoy, Nam. When material arrives i will post a status report. Thanks for everyone's patience.

Thanks for the update. It makes waiting far easier knowing the reasons for the wait.

What an intro to Spyderco! Its my 1st Spydie and I am truly impressed!

Sharper than the dickens, light weight, feels good and does work like a champion.

Great job Spydie

Received my wife's plain edge BF Native today(Wednesday, 23rd) by the little brown truck to go along with the serrated one I had Yekim get for me at the Blade Show. I was only going to get one for the wife, as she wanted one, but decided I better order one for myself. I'm sure glad I did, as we are both pleased as could be with them. I found no faults or defects on either knife. Better than I could hope for.
Thanks to Sal, Danelle, and crew, along with Mike Turber, and Spark for making this possible. You have made the Johnson household very happy, and we are pleased that we can be a part of this family, and help by buying products to keep this forums going.
THANKS ALL!!!!!!!!

I received my Bladeforums Native Yesterday. It is nicer than I expected. What Kind of finish is on the clip? Actually I ordered two and they only shipped one so I have another one coming for a friend as well as Kershaw Talon at the great price of only 39.95. Wow these were selling in Wichita for over a hundred. Spark you can keep those kind of deals coming all the time.

Finally picked mine up from my apt. office after 3 days of trying! I must say I am way more impressed than I expected to be. The fit and finish were immaculate. There were some issues about pricing, if I remember right, and it concerned me also, but after holding it in my hands, I think I got every cents worth and more.
A big Thank You! to everyone on the Spyderco team and everyone on the forums that helped make this happen. Pretty impressive first project for all of us, huh?

I was disappointed in the overly-large BLADEFORUMS.COM etching on the blade.

Well, I finally get to post as I got My BF Native this evening. I like this Knife a lot. Great job guys. Fit and finish are superb. Outstanding team effort.

For those who are waiting for their Natives, you might consider yourselfs lucky. As per thread in the G, the B and the U forum, they are now being checked for quality before shipping. Most have reported to be happy with theirs but a few had ones with unacceptable lockup. Warrantee strait back to Spyderco! Guess which of the two mine came with?

I got my BF Native yesterday, and like most of the others here I am really impressed! The overall quality is truly impressive. This is the first "nice" Spyderco I have purchased for myself, and Spyderco now has one more enthusiastic fan.

I liked the looks of the Native when I first saw it, but the blade metal and Zytel handles (yuck!) didn't impress me much. I think the G-10 handles are great improvement, and ought to be offered on the production model as well. So far I really like the 440V blade, too.

I'm not sure if the fit and finish on this knife is unusually high due to the limited production quantity, but it is perfect on my knife.

I guess my only concern is that the blue paint on the clip may chip or scratch (I plan to carry and use the knife), but time will tell. Does Spyderco sell plain metal replacement clips that fit this knife?

I to am concerned about the durability of the enamel finish on the blue clip. I ordered a plain stainless steel from the Spyderco factory outlet and intend to remove the original clip and use the plain stainless steel clip for everyday carry.
