John, this is more of a question, although I will post action photos as son as I get some. My siblings got me a kephart from the exchange as a christmas present. I love it, but i am not sure of the steel used. If you remember what you used on this one I would like to know. It is 3/16 thick with ebony scales, aluminum pins, and a lanyard hole; no liners, no jimping. If you remember what steel, please let me know.

I have no doubt it is O1, I`ve never made a 3/16" one out of 1095, but are you sure it`s ebony? I`m pretty sure I`ve only made 3 ebony handled knives, and I don`t remember any Kepharts.

I guess it could be black micarta, you would know better than me. It does feel and look like ebony with a good treatment on it, but I have fairly limited experience with micarta scales. The ghostly grain must bee sanding marks polished nearly into oblivion.

In any case, I live the knife, and my suspicions are confirmed knowing that is it O1.

Thanks John for making such an amazing blade.
